I've been shocked so many times, but this time around, It wasn't me that was about to be shocked, well I was included, but more than me, it the whole house that was about to get shocked!

Let me make you understand better.

It was one of the few times we had power supply on a cool Saturday evening. I was charging my gadgets, siting in front of the television watching a really lovely romantic movie while munching on fried potatoes and egg.

Have you ever experienced moments where you journeyed with a movie or a book, it feels like you be entered the movie and you can feel what the characters feel. Your body is still where it is, but your soul had entered the movie, at that point when you're not so conscious about your environment anymore... That was the point I was.

My mum was called upon by ken of our neighbours, so she went outside. I don't know what exactly they were talking about, but I know their discussion was prolonged and she even had to leave to about the fourth house. I actually cared less because I was already so into the movie I was watching.

Suddenly, the light went off! And I was confused. I was confused because It didn't just go off, it went off with a loud sound that made me shake in my seat. First off like the typical Nigerian I am, I went to check if it was just my house or other houses still had light and I noticed it was just my house that had the power outage ... I frowned at that and came back to sit,

Still confused on why it was just my house that experienced power outage and why it went off with a sound, few (about 8) seconds later, I noticed there was an awful smell like when a wire is melting, I was trying to trace the smell, when I started hearing sparks of wore from our pole outside.

I felt vibrations from the floor of the house and that was when I totally lost it.... THE HOUSE WAS SHOCKING... I didn't know what to do, I ran forth and back, the doors were made of metal, I could not touch the door to run out, the floor was vibrating as I was moving and everything was happening very very fast.

I started seeing smoke fill the house little by little... It felt like a dream, my mind went blank, my throat was dry, my mouth was open, my eyes stared into the think air and it was like my brain shut down... I just could not think! My heart felt like it was squeezing within me, my palms were sweaty and shaking.

I did not understand how much fear can paralyse the body of man, it can kill man even before death comes, my body was going numb and suddenly! Like someone switched in a bulb within me, which my air was wide open in the thin air, my eyes caught the mopping stick beside the wall and I remembered our brain box (I think that's what it's called), I ran and grabbed the mop, went straight to the brain box and switched it off! Thai stopped any form of electric current from coming into the house and in the split of a second, everything was fine...

I was still staring in disbelief and shock of what I did. How did I move? What gave me the wisdom? How did I get the courage? All I know was I was looking like a lost puppy one minute and I was as bold as a Lion the next minute.

Honestly, I can't explain exactly why I did what I did? How I did? or What I did, but I thank God for safety.

It was not a funny experience at all, so many negative pictures flooded my heart already and I was wondering if that would be the end.

Thinking about that day gives me chills. My mum cane back home and called electricians, they mentioned something about earth or so. I really don't underestimate what went wrong, all I know is the house was almost shocked and I was able to stop it from happening. I really thank God.

Thanks for stopping by

I'd say electric shock is not anyone's play. I know about the situation in your country and Africa in general, which is terrible. Must have been a short circuit or something went wrong. Good thing you got away with it.

I'm so grateful to God it ended well.

Thank God that no one got hurt. Electrical shocks can be frightening!

Really frightening.
Thanks.

That was a really scary experience, I have been electrocuted before and know how it feels. Thank God it didn't go beyond that, it would have been a really messy situation.
