Heyo, I'm glad you're here again. This funny title has something significant to teach you which includes becoming more sensitive. Without further ado, let me start telling you the gist.

So I'm someone who is used to going to her hometown in Ondo State, the best in the world 😂. We travelled as usual again, and I remember one morning when one of my cousins said she was going to buy coconut rice, it was as if the rest were waiting for her to say it, as they all echoed they were also going to eat coconut rice. It made me excited because I had never eaten it and that was going to be my first time, I became interested and I said I was also going to eat, just for me to take one spoon of the coconut rice and... I spewed it out of my mouth, I dropped it after taking a spoon, it was too soft and soggy, it was not sweet and I didn't like it at all. As from that day I always told people I didn't like coconut rice. I know you're thinking of where this story will end, just follow me.

Then, to the catfish; when I was much younger, my mum and I went to greet a family friend and she served us catfish pepper soup, the name alone made me start salivating, not until she brought it and I was so pissed off by the taste, I was just trying to eat it little by little so that she won't be disappointed 😄. I later found out she didn't know how to properly prepare it, she just rinsed it like she would do to any other fish so it was slimy and its taste was HORRIBLE (it's written in capital letter for a reason) 😂😂😂

Now, the second time I ate coconut rice was when I came back late from school, my elder cousin told me she prepared coconut jollof rice, I didn't want to disappoint her, so I didn't allow my distaste for it show on my face. In my mind I was thinking of something else I would eat, God so good there was gaari at home 😁. On getting to the room, the aroma of the food drew me to the pot, with a double mind, I scooped some into a plate and then I took a spoon. My oh my! I couldn't stop at one plate, it was so delicious 😄🤗 . I don't want to bore you with long stories, but the same thing happened the second time I ate catfish, it was prepared by my mum.

Now, this is the koko of the matter, FIRST IMPRESSION LIVES A LASTING EFFECT. When you are in private or in public, put up your best behaviour, people will judge you based on their first impression about you, either positively or negatively. Coconut rice is a very yummy dish, but my first impression about it made me hate it.

You may not be a rash person, but supposing someone really offended you and you reacted rashly, people who don't know you before will think that is the kind of person you are. How many people will you explain to that you are not really like that.

Also, I want you to note that it is very hard to change the first impression people have about you, now I'm not asking you to live to impress others, all I'm saying is even when you think no one is watching, put on your best behaviour. What will people say about you when you're not around? Learn to leave a good impression about you with others especially when you are meeting them for the first time.

I hope you've been inspired by this post, and henceforth you will put on your best behaviour all the time, either in private or public. You can also share your experience of the first impressions you had about people or things. Let's learn and grow together.

See you at the top
Cheers
