Only a strong and determined person can flow with work and school at the same time, without letting one affect the other. As we all know both required our time and attention.
Students from different colleges, different courses, and different ways of learning. Most students, don’t even assimilate things fast even when they put their all in college, and they still have problems during school hours, trying to get what the lecturer is teaching. Why? Because they have low understanding knowledge. These types of students may likely break down if they have to take work and school together.
And there are students, that don’t even attend lectures, and won’t concentrate on their college courses or read not until when examinations are around the corner, and they used to come out in flying colours.
Why am I saying all this? I am trying to let students that want to work and school, at the same time know their WEAKNESS and STRENGTH and get the job suitable for them, so stress won’t take over them.
Using myself as an example, I don’t like things stressing me, I can start crying when I get to know I am been stressed or when I am stressed😂. During my 100L days, bills were very much in school, and I thought of doing something, like getting a part-time job for myself. Knowing myself well, that I can’t take in much stress, as I am in college, and planning to have a part-time job, I look for the one that won’t be too much stressful, which is ushering job, and this only requires my time at weekends. At least, I will have all the time for myself and college all week till the weekend. So, if you are in college and planning to take a job, please go for the one that won’t take too much of your time or the one that might require your presence at weekends only, because some college assignments sometimes require projects that need to be done outside the school. You can also take on part-time jobs that will allow you to choose your work hours, which will allow you to set aside, enough time for both studying and leisure activities.
Working and being in college at the same, requires a person to be well ORGANIZED, and have TIME MANAGEMENT. You must learn to make a do-list, prioritise important tasks, and have schedules for all the work you have to do for the week. With this, you will be stress-free.
The most important of everything, take time to rest and eat good foods, it’s necessary, it will help energize you and boost your immune system.
