He told us he always drinks moderately as he doesn't like getting tagged a drunkard and we witnessed a few times when he took a glass or two and is satisfied then go home. It was all good then but the event of one day has remained a shocker for us, it was the day he came back in the early evening so drunk and messed up.
It's no joke how much people are relying on alcohol to get by their troubles and worries even though they become sober and realize that the problems are still there. I've never been cool with watching drunks or someone getting drunk, it doesn't tell well of anyone doing it to me. They get drunk and start acting crazy or out of the normal which many regret when they become sober.
Well, this guy's story is one unusual one that I thought I'll only see in movies. I've seen a lot of drunks do crazy things but one he did still replays in my head and I laugh hard at the memory. It started like a normal outing for him, "I won't get drunk" and of course, we trusted he won't so he left.
He was obliged to attend a get together party with his work mates alongside a few of his bosses. He suspected the outing will turn out a bit different than the ones he does but he didn't think it would be him getting too drunk. The company had a get together ritual they perform every end of the year and as one of the best workers, he must attend and hopefully take a special prize.
Well, we never got to know in detail what happened to him at the get together but what he displayed for us in the neighborhood was a lot to talk about and the next morning was another drama entirely.
From what I remember in his explanation when everything died down was that, his bosses made him to continue drinking and he couldn't say No to keep the best worker title on. He kept wishing he came up with an excuse then but the deed had been done. What happened?
He came back all messed up and had lost his house keys somewhere so he just kept running around the neighborhood screaming that he never gets drunk and he is very careful with drinks. It was so funny watching him because he was already drunk. The worse part was when he tried to pull off his clothes as he complained of too much heat.
Many rushed inside to avoid catching a sight of such and some of the male neighbours tried help him get cleaned up then he slept over at one of the houses. The next morning, he woke up and just started crying like a small child. He went to the bar to look for his keys and luckily for him, they had found and kept it for him.
Up till I left that area, he was never seen drinking anywhere. Hopefully, he would keep to that resolution because it really wasn't funny to watch him do all that display.
