Information is becoming more and more widespread in society and, if we stop to think and analyze how the news was disseminated a few years ago, today we are faced with a veritable storm of events. This has become commonplace in our society, but is it really necessary to know everything that happens?
But when it comes to confidential information that is in the hands of the government, I believe there are two points to be analyzed: whether it should be passed on or not. More sensitive information, which could have an impact on the population's behavior, should be measured, thought about and rethought before being passed on. On the other hand, there is information that should certainly be given to people. Generally speaking, certain things should remain state secrets, without a doubt.
My opinion is that people should only know what is essential, and there is a good reason for this. When the issue is critical and there's nothing an ordinary citizen can do about it, the only consequence will be chaos. With chaos in place, the population tends to take actions that can worsen the situation or create other types of problems.
In mid-2020, when the pandemic hit, it was a good example of how society changes its behavior. You see, in that situation it was necessary for the population to know what was going on, but what followed was real chaos, at least that's what I saw here in Brazil. In a matter of days, supermarkets ran out of food and basic hygiene and protection items. People took advantage of the situation to buy more than they needed to resell, because they knew that these products would become scarce. In other cases, they bought more than they needed just out of fear, leaving other people without these products. Note that this was a necessary spread of news and only part of the chaos that took place. Now, imagine if all the news came out!
I value peace, and there is news that the population is not prepared to receive. Unfortunately, a large part of the population is unaware, panicking and taking actions that aggravate the situation. What makes any desperate situation even worse is the herd effect, which leads to decisions that destabilize order and make the confusion even worse.
As I mentioned earlier, there are occasions when it is necessary to inform the population about something important, and this must be done intelligently, without generating chaos. This decision must be filtered, with only what is necessary being said and if there are any recommendations, let them be made too. It's not enough just to bring the news and if it impacts people in some way, it should also say what is needed to contain the problem. Another problem in disseminating certain news is linked to the media in which it will be used. We know that some media outlets are influenced by political parties, which can lead to chaos. Even social networks can be directly linked to problems such as fake news and other forms of spreading lies and despair. Therefore, this is a very delicate subject that should be analyzed with great caution.
I value peace, and the less society knows, without making it totally ignorant, is my choice. And let's be honest, what government would be willing to give information to its population knowing that it could be used by other countries to gain advantage? We know that not everything is told to us and, when it is, we know the consequences and that the population doesn't know how to behave in the face of more delicate facts. So, may peace continue to reign, and so we live on the edge of ignorance, but in an acceptable order.

A informação está cada vez mais difundida na sociedade e, se pararmos para pensar e analisar como as notícias eram disseminadas há alguns anos, hoje nos deparamos com uma verdadeira tempestade de acontecimentos. Esse é um fato que já se torna comum em nosso meio, mas será mesmo necessário saber de tudo que acontece?
Mas se tratando de informações confidenciais que está nas mãos do governo credito que existem dois pontos a serem analisados se devem ser passados adiante ou não. Informações mais delicadas, que podem impactar o comportamento da população, devem ser medidas, pensadas e repensadas antes de serem informadas. Por outro lado, existem informações que, com certeza, devem ser oferecidas às pessoas. De uma forma geral, certas coisas devem permanecer segredo de estado, sem dúvidas.
Minha opinião é que as pessoas saibam apenas o essencial, e isso tem uma justificativa plausível. Quando o assunto é crítico e não há nada que um cidadão comum possa fazer, a única consequência será o caos. Com o caos instalado, a população tende a tomar atitudes que podem piorar a situação ou criar outros tipos de problemas.
Em meados de 2020, quando a pandemia nos assolou, foi um bom exemplo de como a sociedade muda seu comportamento. Veja bem, nessa situação foi necessário que a população soubesse o que estava acontecendo, mas o que se seguiu foi um verdadeiro caos, pelo menos foi o que vi aqui no Brasil. Em questão de dias, os supermercados ficaram sem alimentos e itens básicos de higiene e proteção. Pessoas aproveitavam a situação para comprar mais do que precisavam para revender, pois sabiam que esses produtos ficariam escassos. Em outros casos, compravam além do necessário apenas pelo medo, deixando outras pessoas sem esses produtos. Observe que essa foi uma disseminação de notícia necessária e apenas uma parte do caos que aconteceu. Agora, imagine se todas as notícias viessem a público!
Eu prezo pela paz, e há notícias para as quais a população não está preparada para receber. Infelizmente, boa parte da população não tem consciência, entrando em pânico e tomando atitudes que agravam a situação. O que agrava ainda mais qualquer situação de desespero é o efeito manada, que leva a decisões que desestabilizam a ordem e pioram ainda mais a confusão.
Como citei anteriormente, existem ocasiões em que é necessário informar a população sobre algo importante, e isso deve ser feito de forma inteligente, sem gerar caos. Essa decisão deve ser filtrada, sendo dito apenas o necessário e se existir alguma recomendação, que seja feita também. Não basta apenas trazer a notícia e se ela impactar de alguma forma as pessoas, que ali seja dito também o que é necessário para conter o problema. Outro problema na divulgação de certas notícias está ligado aos meios em que ela será utilizada. Sabemos que algumas mídias são influenciadas por partidos políticos, o que pode potencializar o caos. Até mesmo redes sociais podem estar ligadas diretamente a problemas como fake news e outras formas de espalhar mentiras e desespero. Portanto, esse é um assunto muito delicado, que deve ser analisado com muita cautela.
Eu prezo pela paz, e quanto menos a sociedade souber, sem torná-la totalmente ignorante, será a minha opção. E vamos ser sinceros, que governo ficaria disposto a dar informações à sua população sabendo que isso poderia ser usado por outros países para obter vantagens? Sabemos que nem tudo nos é dito e, quando acontece, conhecemos as consequências e que a população não sabe se comportar diante de fatos mais delicados. Então, que a paz continue reinando, e assim vamos vivendo à beira da ignorância, mas em uma ordem aceitável.
