Life is not meant to be fair, isn't it. The truth is that life is fair to all. Humans only have a decision to make on what to do and how to go about it. You will understand with me that many people are suffering the brunt of the activities of their parents. Even God made the rule in the Holy Bible when He mentioned that the consequences of the sins of the father will be administered down to the fourth generation. Would one now say that God is unfair? God forbid. In some parts of the world, it could be termed sacrilege or blasphemy.
I am of the view that everyone should have enough opportunities to carve their own personalities. My personality shouldn't be from the works of my father.
About three decades ago, my father told me of his uncle whose mother was married before he was born. My grandfather who happened to be the senior of the duo had married earlier and had only one daughter. To keep the family line going, my grandfather had to support his brother who was financially incapacitated to care for a woman.
The woman soon came home after all traditional rites were observed and soon began to bear children. She bore a son after which my father was born. This means that he had a son before my grandfather. Other male children were born afterwards by both wives.
When the government decided to give recognition of royalty to our family, my grandfather's younger brother became a threat because he had a son first before my father was born. It was an int mse battle as he did not recognize his position in the family. And by this time, he had become so influential that he could find his way around politicians.
Before we knew it, his son had been certified as the crown prince of our community even as a product of a younger son in the royal lineage. This was totally against the customs of our people.
On the day of his coronation, he suddenly felt so sick that he could not sit upright. That was the beginning of his end. Someone who was like a green vegetable in the morning has now become weak like a dead leaf in the evening. This was not his fault though. His father made a dangerous move in support of his ascendance to a throne he was not qualified for.
Soon, he gave up the ghost at a prime age. This young man who was pushed by his father had a promising career in the oil and gas sector but decided to support falsehood.
The foregoing story is one of those reasons why the sins of the father would always be melted on his children and sometimes to the third generation.
I am very sure that God wanted to use that principle to control the excesses of men. Despite that, man will never bulge. He would always want to please himself against another.
I Shouldn't Pay For What I Did Not Buy
Children should not suffer the pain of the sin of their parents. They shouldn't. Everyone has to bear his or her name. But as much as children would enjoy the good works of their parents, they will also suffer if their parents do evil. It is a natural law and not debatable.
I know that there are some things that are beyond human control. The truth still remains that the principle transfer of identity will continue till humanity ends.
A critical look into the political space, you will come to understand that the camp you belong to may determine what you get at the end of the day.
Civil Law Is Liable To Persons And Not Lineage.
The laws of the land is applied to an individual who commits a crime. His parents are not brought in his place. It is a breach of the law to do that. Hence, legally speaking, the offence of an individual is not used to punish an innocent.
Someone who is abused by law enforcement agents for a crime he or she is no commit has every right o sue the agency. Most people who are held in custody as we speak are held against their will for a crime they did not commit.
There are examples of cases where the government pays heavily for punishing someone who did not commit a crime.
Parents are therefore advised to only engage in positive action so that the future of their children can be secured as much as possible. Knowing this and acting along makes society a better place.
