Useless Apps In My Phone

in #hive-1538509 days ago

I would like to first register the fact that when the mobile phones of the android and other high level origin came on board, the need to do a lot of things that seemingly looked impossible started. Initially, if I had to attend a family meeting, I would have to travel a long distance.

Some years ago, the popular August meeting in our village was very popular but the reverse is the case now as we usually have a virtual video meeting through #zoom #skype #whatsApp and many more apps. Applications have been developed or designed to solve our immediate needs to some extent. Nonetheless, a whole.lot of app are useless because they either become obsolete or the purpose of downloading them in the first place is of no interest anymore.

Useless App In my Phone Currently

It is funny that some of these apps could be termed useless. Sometimes ago, I had to delete some very important files or images just to have some of these app but today, I can't remember the last time I used or even opened them.
For example, there was a time, about two years ago when I was always on one official assignment or the other and would need private taxi to convey me from part of Lagos to the other. I needed to download the #Uber app. This was to aid me in booking a vehicle that would convey me, that was over two years ago. Now the all is still on my phone but it has become redundant.

At another time, some of my colleagues would always come to the office discussing a movie or the other. It always appeared that I am the odd one. Like when the Half of A Yellow Sun was on Netflix, I had to download the movie app for that purpose and ever since, the app has just only occupied space on my phone.

Again, this one app called 1Xbet app came into my phone from nowhere. I did not download it because I know I do not game. It probably came into my phone when I was transferring a file from a friends phone.

I remember when I joined noise.cash, a platform were you earn Bitcoin Cash, you can get enough BCH only by snapping an editing a colourful floor or the blue sky or even the early morning sun. This made me to download video and photo apps where I could get my photo shots edited. Noise.cash soon crashed and today, those apps are still on my phone and not frequently used.

Free Bitcoin App

The question here is that can there ever be free Bitcoin? I did not answer this question before downloading the app. After downloading, I got busy with mining Bitcoin and the best I ever got was 0.00000001 bitcoin per day. So, I started to wonder, in what year will I be able to make 1 BTC. The straight answer is that it will take over 100,000 days to get to 1 BTC. So, it looked like the app is just a waste of my precious time. I had to abandon it.

Why Did I Download Such Apps In The First Place?

Some possible reasons why I downloaded those apps in the first place could be genuine but over time, the relevance of the app(s) disappeared.

I Don't Want To Miss Out
Sometimes, especially in the crypto world, when a new app is launched, everyone wan to be a part of the project, probably because money will be made from it. And sometimes, I just want to be in vogue. You know, there is time when something is trending and you just have to be there to see what's really happening. For example, you must have heard that folks are making money from Tiktok. I am on tikotok too but I found out that I have not made up my mind on the type of content I want to be sharing on the platform, hence, going there is just like paying other folks and feeding my eyes, nothing more.

Make Believe Marketing
Some marketers can sweet-mouth you to download an app that you will only find useless afterwards. Like in the case of the freebit.in app. A Nigerian who lives in the US advertised it and said a lot of great things about the app that it will generate as much as possible bitcoin and that one could become rich in a matter of weeks. When I started the registration process, it was easy but to earn a $1 worth of bitcoin has been a tug of war.

Some Of The Apps Could Be Useful Tomorrow

Apps like Uber and Kiwi are not in use now but I could need them in the nearest future that's why I am keeping them.

These apps are still on my phone because I have not seem reason to delete them. The day that I will need space for something more important, I would have no choice but to uninstall the apps completely.

Sort:

Uber for easy movement, you can't tell when the need will come to make use of these apps, some might look useless but then you can't tell what the future holds. You are very correct in everything you've said in your post.

That thought alone is what made me leave those apps. The future is not far from now.
Thanks for coming around.

Thank you for always.

Some apps also occupy spaces on our phones; what you need to do is discard them and let the useful apps to take place. Thank you for sharing.

Yes oooo. I still have some attachment to some of the apps.

Our phones need that moment of exploration where we get to clear away some apps that are redundant and creating freer space for our devices. Free Bitcon for where? Lol
