My definition for purpose is simple, essence. When the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is eminent. In life, everything that exists, animate or inanimate has an essence. As humans, our essence is numerous and different but all complementing one another.
Our first essence in life is to continue the creating task. For humans to remain on earth, procreation becomes an integral part for the continuity project. This is why human beings cannot go into existence because we are not a prey to many living things. The reason why some plants and animals are going into extinction is because the same humans are preying on them. On the other hand, some bigger or more powerful forces prey on them too. So, procreation is the first purpose of man on the surface of the earth.
The care of the earth is another responsibility or purpose of man on the earth too. This is why a study has shown that many natural effects are being taken care of so that the earth will be balanced and that is the purpose of man on earth. It must be known that to achieve this, man has to create an institution of learning and research to have a knowledge of the side of life that must be cared for and how to go about it. Through this model, we begin to create careers like teaching, medicine, engineering, law and a lot more to help in achieving this goal. Seeking wisdom, knowledge, and understanding is just one ultimate purpose of man on earth. This purpose will always be relevant because seeking to know will never end.
Another purpose of man on earth is to keep the traditional and cultural heritage of the ethnic group or society where he or she hailed from. It is important to note here that man is considered a spiritual being as he belongs to a line of progenitors from where he came from and exhibits certain traits. The spirituality of man is not about the religion he practices but the connection he has with those who prepared and had walked the line he is tolling.
From the foregoing, you will deduce easily that everyone must have a purpose for which they are created. This purpose differs from person to person.
What Is My Purpose?
It has become relatively difficult to determine my ultimate purpose in life. As a human, I have learned to be humane to everyone I come in contact with irrespective of tribe, skin pigment or social status and I have been trying my best to see that I am human enough to everyone that crosses my path.
For a man to know his particular purpose may require a more concise concentration and inquisition into family history, societal norms, and a wider range of inner reflection and this for sure is a big task.
On the primary level, what matters the most in life is how much of an impact we have been able to make in our immediate environment. This is our general purpose in life.
Any man who walks the face of this earth without an impact is like a snake that crawls through the rock and leaves no traces. This impact can scale through family life, our immediate environment, the society at large or even nationally and worldwide as we have the capacity.
Rather than the above, ego and pride has made man deviate from the purpose and pursue after fame, power, and money. Today, nation is rising against nation, war and prejudice have turned the human space upside down and now the center can no longer hold.
