Diet or Exercise: The Ultimate Showdown

in #hive-15385021 days ago
As humans, exercising is very important in our lives even if we feel we don’t need it. Most people believe that you only exercise when you’re obese or looking to lose weight. Last night, I went out for a run only for someone to ask me why I’m exercising. Reason being that, they don’t see the need for me to exercise because I’m not fat. I just laughed and told them I don’t need to be fat to exercise. I do it for fun and to keep fit.

We all eat and that’s something we can’t do away. No matter what, we all eat every blessed day of our lives. Food is meant to give us energy to go about our daily activities, but sometimes not everything we take in is healthy. There are days we don’t have an appetite and so we don’t eat much and there are days we decide to eat a lot of junk food. All these go into our body and accumulate. That’s how come we start having pot belly and getting out of shape.

However , it’s not entirely the food we eat that puts us out of shape, our lifestyle also plays a huge role in that. Imagine eating a bowl of noodles and heading straight to bed after. And this continues for not just a day, but a week or even months. With this, do you expect to have that summer body and look snatched? Obviously not, you’d be looking like a potato.🤭

Personally, I believe that to have a fit and perfect body, you first have to change your lifestyle. You can be dieting and exercising but your lifestyle is what is going to keep you where you are with no results. But , assuming you’re making a conscious effort to live right, I trust that a combination of dieting and exercising would do the trick. Let’s not forget that this doesn’t work for everyone.

So, to have the right result you’re looking out for, you need to know yourself and understand your body. For some people, only exercising does the magic for them while for others is only dieting. Then there’s those that need a combination of the two. Let’s not forget that there are people who also naturally look perfectly in shape with no exercise or dieting. Everyone’s body works differently.

Regardless, it’s important to ensure that with whichever one you choose to go with, you make sure to not do it too much to the extent that it starts to affect you negatively. Some people even go to the extent of starving themselves just cos they want to lose weight . Are you looking to lose weight or you want to get ulcer? Too much of everything is bad and so, let’s ensure to do things just in the right proportion. You don’t expect to have results in a day, it takes time.Just keep being consistent and determined, the struggle will soon pay off in due time. I hope this helps someone out there.

You are right, we need to change our lifestyle before we can have the perfect body. Nice write up

Thanks for passing by.

Yes o 😛 what works for you might not work for others because exercise does the magic for some while dieting does it for some as well.
Meanwhile, the two things don't do anything for some as well because after exercising they don't watch what they eat and they keep getting more fat, which might not be comfortable for them.

You’re very right. Which ever one we choose , we still have to find ways and means to make it work out for us.

Nhaji looks naturally fitted in shape, why need exercise again? 😃😃
I was once that person that immediately jumps on the bed once I am done eating, it used to pain me but would ignore it, little did I know it was affecting me. I had to stop when I learnt that it is bad.
Now, I eat consciously and bit by bit. It's all about being intentional about one's lifestyle because no matter the exercise or dieting, it won't bring in that good result if you aren't living right.

I have to keep that body in shape, just like you.🤝

👌

I agree with you, Nhaji. You don't have to be overweight or out of shape to start exercising! Exercise is for every body, regardless of size or fitness level. Regular physical activity has countless benefits.

Very true. The sooner people realize that, the better.

Nowadays, with this global culture that appearance is your calling card, all people focus on looking good physically. Fortunately, I am part of that minority that takes care of keeping their brain in shape before their body. But I am clear that there must be a balance between both things.

Funny enough, appearance isn’t everything. I’m glad you’re part of the few people who make sure to keep their brain fit.

The truth is that yes, at least I think it is better to keep your brain exercised, if you can't lose weight, with a trained brain you can think about how to do it! 😀

You’re right!😂
