My Gift To The Future

Life they say is a journey, but not a race. Everyone has their path to walk in life and at the end of the day, everyone lives the life destined for them. Over centuries now, so many lessons have been passed down from generation to generation across the globe. Indeed, no one is perfect and these lessons have served great help to so many people and it has changed their lives in so many ways.

Growing up, my parents instilled so many values in me. My mom used to tell my siblings and I that telling lies was a bad thing and we also took this advice. When we also have kids one way, we would obviously and most definitely pass this same advise down to them because of the impact is has had in our lives.

Wisdom isn’t in one man’s head and that’s why God created so many of us to learn from one another and grow together. Without other people around you, you’d find it very hard to identify your wrongs because for some things, you need people to point them out to you. Personally, I have learnt so many lessons both from experience and from people I meet on daily basis. Most times, I didn’t really take the advice people gave me seriously until I experienced it first hand. As they say, experience is the best teacher and I can testify to that. The world is changing , but then that doesn’t mean we should throw our values out the window. Now is the time we need them more than ever.

I have learnt so many lessons in my life but one that I think is not really over emphasised is that act of embracing our mistakes , learning from them and moving on. There are so many people out there who are stagnant in life because they still can’t get themselves to move on from their past mistakes. All they do is blame their village people for their downfall when in actual fact, they are the same people hindering their own growth. No one is perfect,we are all bound to make mistakes at every point in our lives. But one thing we must do as individuals is to learn from our mistakes and do better rather than always using our past as an excuse for not doing better. I say this because I have been a victim and so I am speaking from experience.

Dwelling on your past mistakes is more like drinking the same poison that almost killed you over and over again. People will talk no matter what you do, so why not do better so those talking would use you as an example for themselves and others. Most of us are living our lives how we think others want us to but we forget that we only live once and we must leave our mark in the world even when we are no more. People should be able to say in your absence that you were the one who rose from grass to grace because you didnt let your mistakes hold you back.

I believe that, this lesson would be of great importance to the coming generations as it would promote growth across the world at large.

Quite educative, for any human who wants to go far in life must be able to learn from their own errors, life is full of lessons but for only those who chose to learn from it.

My dad would say, the purpose of pain is not to keep you stagnant but to remind you of the consequences of our actions. Sometimes it becomes so easy to get stuck in past mistakes but then we have to try as much as possible not to get stuck in it.

Your dad is right. He has passed through this life and he knows how tough it can be at times. May God give everyone the ability to heal and grow. Amen

Namaste 🙏 @nhaji01 , yes no one is perfect and we all are learning from our life experience, we learnt from our mistakes done in the past.

Just like what a pastor said in church that some people haven't started living the year 2024 but are trapped in the previous years because they refuse to heal from their mistakes. Embracing our past mistakes and moving on is the best way to live in the present and be better than dwelling in the past which would keep hunting us down and never allowing us move forward.

I totally agree with you.
