Life is a never ending cycle of learning and growth. Growing up in my part of the world, all we’ve been taught is to be good kids, respect elders, go to school, learn hard and be responsible adults in future. It’s more like that has been the cycle for some decades now and even looking at our parents and even grandparents says it all.
I’ve had people complain about how they have no break in their lives because at every stage of their lives, they’re in school. In Africa, taking a gap year is more like a punishment or a loss to most people due to the way we uphold the whole schooling system. It’s more like if you don’t go to the university the same year you complete senior high school you’re automatically a failure which isn’t even the case.
There’s really more to life than this never ending cycle we have found ourselves in. The youth is mostly centered on one thing to the extent that we fail to even look elsewhere to be able to appreciate life more. I believe everyone of us has a purpose in this life in one way or the other. You being brought into this earth wasn’t a coincidence and so you have to trust that, you are here for a reason.
Sometimes,we might loose track of who we are and what our purpose in life is but looking at it in a different dimension, it’s all part of the journey. The journey they say is the reward. Life isn’t easy and to achieve something great, you would have possibly struggled so much such that even those around you will rejoice with you when the wins start coming.
Personally, I believe I have a great purpose in this life and with every passing day, I see things unfolding before my eyes. The hardships I’ve been through, the good days and even the days I didn’t even feel like getting out of bed are all shaping me to become the best version of myself and leading me to fulfill my purpose in life. Sometimes I look at people and I wonder how difficult their life must have been before they got to achieve all that they have today.
To every success, there are always days and weeks of hardships and tears but what everyone sees is the light when you finally reach the end of the tunnel and not the darkness in the tunnel, and such is life. Purpose drives us to take action and that is the only way we either feel fulfilled or not fulfilled at the end of the day. Believe it or not, we all have a role to play in this world and whether we like it or not, we will play that role. Purpose is more than we see or can even comprehend at times. It just keep unfolding with each passing day.
