Before we enter into a discussion about the practice of Bribery and Corruption, as well as its impacts and solutions, we will first discuss bribery and corruption so that we can understand more about the practice of bribery and corruption.

What is Bribery?

In simple terms, I mean that bribery is the giving of money, goods, or services to certain parties to change the system, actions, and good behavior of a person and a certain organization. For example: Someone wants to enter a certain company, because of the large amount of competition, the applicant gives money to HR so that he can be accepted at the workplace, or another example we can find in the world of education, someone goes to college and gives money to the manager so that he graduated from the college.

What is Corruption?

I interpret corruption as an act of abuse of budget and authority, corrupt practices usually occur at the government level when distributing money to certain parties, or when making infrastructure. As an example. A President/Governor/Minister is in charge of distributing money for the construction of toll roads, or the construction of educational places, the money that should be given in a predetermined amount, but is deducted for personal interests, which is deposited for development is no longer in accordance with what was previously regulated.

The definition above that I have mentioned is not very broad in scope, I give a simple meaning so that we can understand easily what bribery and corruption are. Now, let's enter the discussion stage regarding the practice of bribery and corruption that occurred in my country.

Honestly, I am actually ashamed and sad when writing this contest, we have to explain how bad our country is, but I consider this as a defense for me, and it could be someone from the government side of my country reading this and fighting later to eradicate bribery practices and corruption.

I am in the State of Indonesia-Aceh Province. My region Aceh Province gets special autonomy or special rights granted by the State to my region to manage its own finances and manage its own government.

Bribery and Corruption Practices that occurred in Aceh Province have resulted in several things:

1. Inappropriate Infrastructure Development.

The impact of the bribery practice that occurred in my area has resulted in unfinished infrastructure development. The construction of educational buildings, road construction, to the construction of places of worship are not in accordance with the predetermined design, the implementing party takes advantage of the predetermined limit. The end result of all that is Nil. It is a pity that the infrastructure built will have a positive impact on education and the economic growth of the community, but due to corrupt practices, eventually the development is not good or not appropriate.

2. Increasing Poverty.

Currently in my area there are many unemployed, because of the impact of Bribery and Corruption, how can I not, people do not have jobs because there is no infrastructure, investors also do not want to cooperate under the pretext of many corrupt practices. Finally, many graduates are unemployed.

3. Increasing Inequality in Society.

The existence of bribery and corruption in my area has created a sense of surrender and chaos in the community, no longer trusting each other and not caring about the environment, eventually many natural disasters occur, a lot of deforestation, as I wrote in the article “Say no to pollution”. The government and part of the community no longer care about the environment because corruption has become rampant, and has influenced human behavior.

4. Conflict.

In the past, when my country was newly independent, my region, namely the province of Aceh, contributed an airplane to the Indonesian government, and it was Indonesia's first aircraft. All the people of Aceh raised funds to buy the plane with a written agreement that the Aceh Province had special rights. (Special Autonomy). After that process took place and the plane was purchased, in the end there was a time or period corruption, the promise that had been written was not implemented by the central government. Finally, there was a protracted conflict in my area against the Central Government (State).

Those are some of the impacts that occur as a result of bribery and corruption. Actually there are many more impacts, such as the lack of growth in education, a poor economy, and also the occurrence of natural disasters.

What are the appropriate steps to stop the practice of bribery and corruption:

1. Rules that make a deterrent.

Currently the regulations in my country are not deterrent, people who are corrupt are only in prison for a few years after that they are released and can join society as usual, and it is possible that they can commit corruption again. So I suggest that the perpetrators of corruption should be punished severely, for example the punishment of cutting off their hands, or the punishment of being embarrassed in the procession along the road. The point is that the punishment is severe, if biased, the death penalty is carried out so that future chaos can be stopped.

2. Early Childhood Education.

There are practices of bribery and corruption due to the weakness of social and religious education in humans, it is necessary to provide education for children not to commit acts that violate the law. From a young age, children must be educated to be good people in society, they must care about the environment.

3. Strengthening just and equitable governance.

The government plays a very important role in solving bribery and corruption, making strict regulations, creating jobs, and improving the community's economy. If the community is poor then the practice of corruption will have opportunities, so the government needs to think about how the community's economy grows.

I think the 3 solutions above are the basis for stopping bribery and corruption, but there are many other solutions that can be done to stop it.

Thus my review of bribery and corruption, the essence of the discussion is that all of us must stop bribery and corruption, there is no good in it, let's live a normal life as a just and civilized society.

All criticism and input are welcome.

My question is who dares to oppose them at this time? have we prepared the coffin? hehe I'm almost crazy with the state of our country.

Ho hana deuh2

Currently, only a group of students dare to oppose them. That's just a little. Hopefully our country will someday be victorious again, especially for us, Aceh. Like the era of Iskandar Muda.

Tanyoe kaleh menikah, lebaran woe rumoh mak tuan, leu peu kegiatan, hana sempat teumuleh. Nyo ka aktif loem.

Child education is a very good approach to equip the younger generation against the effects of corruption.
Thank you for sharing. ☺️

It's one of the best steps starting from childhood until he grows up. This important role must be carried out by all parties, so that opportunities for corrupt practices can be prevented.

Thank you for dropping by at my post.

You're absolutely right and you're welcome.

Bribery and corruption can be of great danger to the society

Yes, totally correct. This is what we are talking about.

greetings anti corruption and bribery. your post is very good and valuable. hopefully corruption and bribery will disappear in your country. thank you for sharing info in this community.

I hope so, bribery and corruption disappear from the face of the earth. Thank you for being in my post.

I agree so much with the thoughts on child education as a key solution to this growing challenge we have today

Hopefully, by educating children from a young age about the dangers of corruption, they can prevent opportunities for bribery and corruption to occur.
If we look at developed countries, there is no system that can stop bribery and corruption permanently.

One of the reasons why bribery and corruption is rampant in the government is because they are not being held accountable for their actions. If the people begin to ask for justice whenever any high-standing government official goes against the law, then they will be less likely to commit it.
Thank you for sharing this with us.

What I do know is that accountability is being asked. However, data manipulation occurred during accountability.

Thank you also for joining my post.
