Cyber Platforms And Content Creator's Job

in #hive-1538503 months ago

It saddens my heart to see that technology which is supposed to be the backbone and pride of society has now been reduced to a medium of corrupting the younger generation. Legend has it that an average boy of around 11-17 years of age has seen more naked women than (Mansa Musa) the richest King that ever lived.

I have observed that every family or household has a Television or at least a smart phone that helps them access the internet and sort for movies and other trending stuffs. Sometimes the whole family would gather to watch these contents as a way of entertaining themselves, however, some of the contents produced today are a danger to the future of society.

For me, I would give an 80% blame to the producers, directors, and owners of various cyber platforms for allowing uncensored contents into their space. Most of these content creators do not care about the negative effects of their products to society, all they are concerned about is how to generate high traffic and earn more money for themselves.

So today, we see movies or graphical contents rated Parental Guardians (PG 13) but the materials of some of these movies are filled with uncensored content that may end up corrupting the younger ones in society.

It is true that the parents are supposed to guide and regulate what their children watch and listen to, but at the same time we should note that parents are humans too, and they do not have super powers to watch out for their kids at all time.

They are some times when the parents would have to give their children space to grow and learn independently, what then would be the fate of that child if the entire internet is filled with uncensored contents that could corrupt them.

As humans, what we see and hear is what we become, if we continually see explicit, illegal and uncensored content, it would only be a matter of time we would gradually become everything we had been viewing. That's why it's important for content-oriented platforms to help secure the future of our upcoming generation.

An average child of around 13 years old has a smart phone that can access the internet, so what are the chances that a parent can completely regulate what their child consumes from the technological space. Parents can only advise and hope their kids would learn, but it's the duty of the content creators and platforms to censor their content atleast to an average level.

An uncensored content could be a forbidden word, an illegal phrase, explicit videos or pictures, adult scenes and many more. The content creators should be able to properly edit their videos or pictures where necessary, to avoid any form of provacative or aggressive effect on the consumers in society.

Although cyber platforms are major sources of uncensored contents, parents also have a big role to play in guiding and monitoring their children to the best of their abilities. For instance, I have seen an 18 years old boy thinking and behaving like 5 year old baby. Some people grow in age but do not mature in their thinking, so it's best to equally monitor what your children are consuming online, even though it's rated below their age bracket.

I always hear stuffs like "children are the leaders of tomorrow," but I fear for the tommorow if the leaders are being negatively affected today. Censorships and regulations from the part of most of these social media platforms would go a long way in shaping the younger generation into becoming greater and better than the current generation.

I appreciate your time around here❤️:-)
