I don't know if it was me being unserious or it was a normal phenomenon among every other student, but back then in school I never liked Mondays because it was the beginning of the new week of school stress and assignments, lol. But Fridays were my favorite days because I would have some free days to rest and cool off from the activities of school.
Funny enough, it never ended in school because even up till now, "I still wish there were lesser work days at my workplace" so that I can have more free days to do whatever I want. We are used to the 5-working-days per week schedule in this part of the world, but there are some foreign countries where companies operate on only 4-working-days per week.

The major challenges that has been observed with companies that operate 4 days a week is that some tasks might require longer hours and resources to complete within a little timeframe, thereby making the employee to overwork in some days.
But regardless, I still believe having lesser working days is the dream of every employee. Below are some of the benefits of a 4-working-days rather than a 5-working-days.
Lesser Work Days, Happier Employees |
---|
I believe a huge percentage of us would feel happier to have a balanced life between work and leisure time. And sometimes, finding a company that offers us lesser days at work in this country is usually hard to find, thereby making such companies a treasure. Imagine working for just 4 days and there are still 3 days off to flex and enjoy, isn't that wonderful.
We might not admit it, but humans are designed to love freedom and stress-free situations. Some companies stress the hell out of their employees for longer days and hours not caring how they feel.
No wonder I see cases of disloyalty from employees to company because some of this employees are just enduring the stress until they find a better company that offers lesser days at work.
Improves Employee Social Life |
---|
I have observed that this 5-working-days schedule doesn't allow employees to engage in other important stuffs like family, health, friends, and hobbies. It's usually only on Saturdays that some of these workers are free to go visiting or do other important things.
I am sure with fewer working days, employees would atleast have enough time to visit family members or probably visit the hospital for check-ups because our general wellbeing is tied to many factors, family and health is being two of such, not only work.
Lesser Work Days, Lesser Costs for Company |
---|
The resources and power required to sustain a company for just 1 day is usually enormous, and most company spend a huge amount of their monthly revenue to run the day to day affairs of the company.
Sometimes it might be too much water consumption, or power supply that is draining the company's resources. So taking one day off from the 5 days would help the company in reducing costs, and some of the equipment would equally have enough time to cool off and operate better next time.

There might be some cons to my view of lesser work days like employees not able to finish their job within the 4 days timeframe or employees not getting enough experiences, I still think the benefits are more convincing. Although some customers would prefer the normal 5 days working schedule per week, but I am speaking from the workers point of view, give me lesser work days and I would be happier.
I appreciate your time around here❤️:-)
