Gambling can make and break.

Hello, everyone.

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. Betting and gambling are believed to be life changers, but the truth is they can either change your life for good or for bad; it all depends on how you want it to be. Some people claim that gambling can be addictive and people cannot do away with it, but I tend to wonder why people will get addicted to something that is obviously harmful to them, their mental health, and, most of all, their finances. Like, why get addicted to something that can ruin you? Something that brings very little joy and so much pain, but still people get addicted to it to the point of not going a day without visiting betting shops or betting sites.

There are people who also believe betting to be a source of income; they use every penny that comes their way to play bets since they believe it to be a source of income, and the only way they can earn from it is by continuously playing and risking their money. I read on Twitter where a punter said, "You cannot know how lucky you are unless you place a bet every day." Many people are using this as a motivation to bet and lose money every day with the hope that they would win, but the reverse is always the case. One of the things that causes one's mental health to deteriorate really fast is losing money, and one of the things that comes with gambling and betting is losing money.

When it comes to betting, there are different beliefs; some even believe betting to be an empowerment for the youths, but what kind of empowerment has such a high tendency of ruining the youths and everything that concerns them? Betting has done more harm than good. I have seen people who say they made a lot of money from gambling and betting and changed their lives, and I have also seen people who say they were once doing good financially and mentally, but betting took all that away from them. The number of people whom betting has impacted negatively outweighs the number of those it has impacted positively.

Betting can change the lives of 2 people positively and ruin the lives of 30 others, and many people still see betting as a source of income and some see it as empowerment, but me, I see it as none of all these; I only see betting as a business for those who are running betting platforms and an avenue for those who stake to lose their hard-earned money. For the fact that it is a business for people, and as always another man's loss is another man's gain, I do not support gambling being made or labeled illegal.

Gambling might have ruined more lives than we can imagine, but only those who are 18+ are allowed to bet, which means they have come of age and can actually make decisions for themselves, choosing to lose their hard-earned money to betting and gambling was their decision. It was a choice of theirs, as no one forced them to stake or play a bet; it was completely voluntary and at their own will. I do not support another man's business being closed down or made illegal because of another man's choices or decisions.

It's start with little by little, before you know they have lost control

Yes. Understood. That means those 18 above can make their decision to gamble because they have come of age.
Thanks for sharing

I am surprised to hear who are those people who believe that batting is an empowerment for the youth. I do not understand the logic behind this. This is a bad addiction. I have hardly seen a person who has made his life successful with the help of gambling. Even if a person wins today by gambling, he is sure to lose one day.
