Nacho Libre is the movie that does it for me.

Hello, everyone.

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learner's featured post. I remember the days where we only watched movies for the action that came with them and not for the lessons embedded in them. Those days, we just wanted action and did not even try to understand what the movie was all about. Growth has really changed a lot of things. Growing up, I was opportune to see different genres of movies. All the movies I have seen have, in one way or another, impacted my life. Some of these movies made me really emotional; the likes of Titanic made me want to cry, but you dare not cry, or else other kids will tease you with it.

I have seen quite a lot of movies, many of which had a lot of lessons embedded in them, and now deciding which one to share is kind of difficult. I really do not enjoy boring movies. I try to make sure every movie I see is interesting and keeps me glued to my screen. Some of these movies are comedy, but the comedy does not stop one from picking a lesson or two. The movie "Three Idiots" is filled with comedy, but there is a lot to learn from it. Those types of movies keep you glued to your screen, make you laugh out loud, teach you life lessons, and also emphasize the importance of keeping friends who have your best interests at heart. These friends might be flawed, but that does not stop them from coming through for you at all costs.

Some of these movies were introduced to me by my father, and they did not go as expected. I expected them to be boring, but they were exceptional, unlike what we have today. Many movies today have little or no message to pass on to viewers. These days, many people hit the movie industry not to make an impact but for fame and money.

Nacho Libre.

A 2006 movie, but with so much to learn from the lead actor. It was based on the true life story of a Mexican Catholic priest known as Fray Tormenta. In the movie, Ignacio, who lost both parents as a baby, struggles all through and, after a while, becomes a cook in a very poor orphanage where he was raised. He had a dream of becoming a wrestler, but the church and orphanage forbade that. Ignacio loved and cherished the orphans because he was once like them, and he always got treated badly by other brothers. But that did not stop him from giving his very best to ensure the orphans were treated right and ate right. His superiors gave him little or nothing to prepare food for themselves and the orphans.

He became friends with Steven, who is a street thief, and they became teammates, and that made him ignore the church rules kicking against wrestling. He decided to pursue his dreams. His stage name was Nacho to keep his identity a secret, and he always wears a mask. His teammate's stage name was esqueleto, which means skeleton because of how thin he looks. They got defeated in almost all of their matches, but the hosts were always kind enough to still pay the losers. Ignacio used his pay to cook for the orphans, and their diet changed. The orphans started eating well and getting good medications, all from his pay.

lesson learned from the movie.

There are lots and lots of lessons to learn from this movie, and I will share a few below:

  • In your life journey, there will be obstacles, but your ability to overcome these obstacles is what determines your success.

  • Stay resilient when pursuing your dream.

  • Show kindness and help people in every little way you can.

  • Don't let people change who you are. Ignacio was treated really badly by superiors, but it did not change him or his love for the orphans.

Thanks for reading my post.

The movie shows that God's ways are mysterious. It has a good message, and also that touch of Jack Black's comedy. I laughed a lot when he was fighting with skeleton. Good recommendation.

I did enjoy the movie too, a lot of comedy with plenty of lessons 😂.

Thanks for stopping by sir.
