Time away from home.

Hello, everyone.

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. I doubt if there is anyone out there that does not like the idea of traveling. When you know you have a journey ahead of you, you get filled with a kind of excitement nothing can be compared to, especially when you are traveling to a new place, somewhere you have not been to before. Sometimes you are left wondering what the place has in store for you and with the hope of exploring and making new friends, you will wish the day draws close fast.

Though traveling on this side of the world can be stressful due to the condition of the road and public transport drivers wanting to make extra profits, thereby making passengers uncomfortable, aside from that, traveling is one thing I always look forward to. Whenever I have a journey planned out, I start to get sleepless nights because of the excitement and a lot of thinking about where I am going to and the people I am leaving behind. Whenever I have to travel, I do a lot of thinking, but it still does not kill the excitement of changing environments at least. We can travel for fun or for learning and experience, and sometimes we can travel for both.

For me, I enjoy traveling very early in the morning before the neighbors wake up. I must have reached the bus terminal at least and waiting for other passengers so we can be en route. If it were left for me and if I could afford it, I would even prefer a private means of traveling so I can escape having to wait for passengers, as that alone can take hours and keep you at the bus terminal until the excitement for the journey dies down and you leave thinking if you should start regretting ever embarking on the journey.

The last time I traveled was all fun, and I got to learn a few things as well. I left the house while it was still dark as usual and got to the bus terminal and some passengers were already there as always, even those that slept there so they would leave early. I could not wait to see my uncle, who lives in Ebonyi State, Nigeria, Amasiri, to be precise. It is a developing town, and I cannot call it an urban area even though it has quite a number of people living there. The people were welcoming, and I saw them living as one big family, caring and asking after each other. Unlike where I come from, you cannot be seen for days, and no one will ask after you. But it is different in this town, as even if you are not seen for a day, you will have people coming to make sure you are good and healthy and to know why you have not been seen. The neighbourhood was fun and lovely to the point i followed a friend to his place of work.

It was one journey to remember. My uncle and his family welcomed me and made me feel like I never left home; I had all I needed. The only thing that wanted to spoil the fun and time spent there is the scarcity of water. The area he lives in does not have access to clean water, and you can either buy or go to a stream quite far from the house. It is a challenge they have been facing, and no one is even talking about that. If there is one thing I can change, then it is definitely to fix the water problem. Aside from the fact that the rea is a good one, the cost of living is not so high.

Cause you don't like people seeing you as you carry your bags and leave the house, my aunty does that as well. She travels very early in the morning. I enjoy traveling as well; the experience is everything and the fact that we get to see new things and experience a new diversity of cultures.

I have heard a lot about Ebonyi, maybe one day I will visit it too

Traveling although always fun, do comes with it challenges, especially here I. Nigeria with bad road and fear of insecurities, but the it's good to see you have a good tine at your uncle place even though it's pleague with water scarcity.
