Hello, everyone.
Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learner's featured post. As we go about our daily lives and try to make ends meet, we get to experience different things; sometimes our experiences are good, and we wish to experience such things every day, and sometimes our experiences are bad, and we don't wish for even an enemy to experience such. One thing about life is that it will expose you to a dose of everything, a dose of the good things and the bad ones but we only pray that it exposes us to more of the good ones and less of the ones but the truth is having a taste of bad experience from time to time is inevitable.
There are sad events that happen in our lives, and we feel like crying; sometimes we cannot even hold it back as we shed tears and let out as we cannot hold it back; sometimes we even get tired of shedding tears because of how much this sad event hurts or gets us frustrated, and sometimes we get to experience happy moments that bring us joy and happiness and just smiles all over our faces as we enjoy those moments and hope that we get to experience more of it. We just have to have it at the back of our minds that as humans life will expose us to both sides of life, there is no escaping it but we can only hope and pray that life exposes us to more of good sides of life where we are happy.
The one time I experienced an unexpected kindness was from a mean-looking stranger at a bus station; I really did not expect him to help me out. It was during the era of cashless policy where we had very little flow of cash, and if you got access to it, you would have to pay heavily for it. I was travelling home, and the transport fare was sent to me by my parents. Since I was not doing well financially then, I had to spend more than half of the money on the charges needed to get the cash. I got to the bus station, and the money left on me could only afford a seat, but I was requested to pay for my baggage, but I had nothing left on me.
I pleaded with the driver, but the driver told me he was not running a charity organization, and if I wouldn't pay for my baggage, he would drop them, or I would join the next bus. A few other passengers pleaded with him too, but the driver meant business and was not willing to listen to anyone. It was getting out of hand before the man sitting in front asked the driver to put my baggages, and he would pay. His look did not show him to be that type of person, and I understood the saying of not to judge a book by its cover from that experience, and I could not thank him enough.
The one bad experience and treatment I got was when I lived with my uncle; those days were really trying days. My wife treated me like a slave. I could go a whole day without eating but still be expected to carry out chores as it is expected of me. It was a really terrible experience from the place I least expected; I never expected I would go to my uncle's house and be deprived of food, but he expected to work like a maid. Both experiences taught me that you can get help from where you least expect and also get hurt by the people you never thought would hurt you, so lower your expectations of people.
