This subject is interesting since it relates to each and every one of us. Social media has consumed us all in today's world and has changed the way we live. Imagine couples living together and having no time for each other. Instead of checking up on each other, they rather check up on their phones browsing and concentrating on phone for hours, sometimes, through out the night.
COMMUNICATIONS: Lack of communication has destroy a lot of relationships because communication is the most important factor in building a healthy relationship. Before the arrival of technology and social media, people communicate face to face with their loved ones, spending quality time with them and creating cherished memories. Social media's recent advent has distracted individuals more and cut down on the amount of time people spend with their loved ones. Nowadays, couples pay more attention to their phones and laptops than to each other. This could be detrimental to forming and maintaining a healthy relationship.
UNNECESSARY COMPARISON. Unnecessary comparison has caused some relationships to fail. Relationships ought to be founded on actual events rather than on what we see online. The majority of us forget that there are many fake lives and believe that our marriages and relationships should look exactly like what we see online. Social media has failed to inform people that, while there are happy times in relationships, there are also difficult and trying times. By misleading others into believing that relationships are easy, people on social media have destroyed many relationships.
OVER SHARING. When a couple is active on social media constantly, they frequently update their followers on their daily activities. Relationships are supposed to be private affairs, but the social media era has entirely destroyed that. Couples are now preoccupied with sharing and updating their fellows rather than concentrating on themselves. We occasionally share things meant for the two with the world by mistake.
JEALOUSY. It's no doubt that social media has made life easier in terms of connection but it has also destroy some relationships through the act of jealousy. You can imagine your partner chatting for hours with an opposite sex, smiling and laughing without looking at your direction. Imagine him or her giving out nice comments on the post of their ex and their ex replying. What comes to your mind?. Social media has created room for jealousy and this is not healthy for a relationship.
My advice is, there should be limit to everything. While engaging, put your partners into consideration, learn to face the reality of life and forget about fakes online. Review little about your relationship to the world and enjoy a healthy relationship.
