We are here again to discuss a vital prompt, about the internet as a part of the fundamental human rights. It's quite a mind boggling topic, which has actually sparked a lot of debate worldwide to the extent that The United Nations have to come into the matter, before I proceed let make use of our imagination, please journey with me:
Let us now Imagine a world where information, education, and opportunities are just a click away, I mean you have all that at your finger tip, A world where you can connect with others, express yourself, and access life-changing resources, now this is the picture I am trying to paint out for us: This is the vivid picture of the internet.
This is the type of world we live in today,all credits and thanks to the internet.
But then to my suprise, there are still places, that don't even have the internet, yeah that a very surprising fact, have you ever stopped to think about whether access to the internet is a fundamental human right? This is why the internet access as a fundamental human right question has sparked intense debate in recent years.
Why do we all need Access to the Internet?
Does Access to the internet really Matter?
For many of us, the internet is an essential part of daily life, someone like me, I use more than 3 gigabyte of Data every day, it is now a lifestyle.
Access to the internet for me, is a lifeline to connect to the world, I usually feel empty when I don't connect to the internet.
The Internet has a lot of uses like the following:
We use it to stay connected with loved ones, access education and job opportunities, and gather information on everything from healthcare to hobbies.
But then there is a problem, some places don't have any internet, for such marginalized communities and individuals, access to the internet can be a game-changer. It can provide a lifeline to vital resources, connect them with others who share similar experiences, and empower them to take control of their lives.
Because the issue of Access to Internet The United Nations made a decision.
In the year 2011, the United Nations Human Rights Council recognized access to the internet as a human right. This Great decision acknowledged the internet's critical role in enabling individuals to exercise their rights to freedom of expression and access to information.
The Challenges and Barriers
Despite this recognition, there are still some challenges that we are yet to overcome. Many parts of the world lack the infrastructure and resources needed to provide universal access to the internet,for example some places in Africa don't even have any infrastructure to allow Access to the Internet.
Our Governments in Africa and some other corporations must work together to address these gaps and ensure that everyone has access to this vital resource.
My Verdict on passing the Rule of Access to information (Internet)
Everybody Deserves Access to Internet. The internet is the most effective source of Information, it is fast , effective and Reliable. I strongly support any Government placing and stating access to internet as a fundamentally human right.
My Conclusion
The Access to the internet is not just a privilege; it's a fundamental human right. It's really essential for connecting with others, accessing education and also a lot of job opportunities, and gathering information. Everyone deserves it.
