Hello everyone, it's another beautiful week with another yummy food from your girl, Princess-Dara.
What can someone do when he or she is hungry? Am sure it's nothing, and left to me, I love food lol 😂.
Yeah, anything that is eatable is fine for me and that is why I learned how to prepare even snacks so that I can have whatever my appetite cravings.
As we all know it's weekend, and I can't keep eating rice and eba so doing something different wouldn't be a bad idea. Today, I will be making shawarma yummy right?
Yeah it was yummy when I finished preparing it and my neighbor couldn't resist the aroma so she knocked and asked for her own, funny enough I made more than I should so I was happy that she asked if not it would have been wasted.
It was so stressful to get the shawarma bread because people have different names for it. I sent my sister's child to help me ask for shawarma wrap at the store close to us and he came back angrily that they didn't have it, I called my sister's husband to help me buy when he's coming back from work he said the same thing and I just said to myself, "you have to do this yourself."
I went back to the same store and asked for shawarma wrap and that cashier said they had shawarma bread and not the wrap, I told her to let me have a look and it was the same thing I had been looking for.
As if that was not enough, getting cabbage now became hard because the aboki selling it in my area didn't have so I had to take a bike to the market to get just the cabbage.
By the time I got home, I lost interest in making the shawarma but my sister told me I would just waste my efforts and money if I didn't make the shawarma again so to avoid that I jumped into that kitchen and started making the yummy shawarma.
So let's get to the business on how to make a low budget shawarma.
The ingredients are:
Shawarma bread
Sausage
Cabbage
Mayonnaise
Chicken
Chili pepper
Groundnut oil
And of course, seasoning for boiling the chicken.
Procedure
Step 1
I rinse the chicken cut it into pieces and then boil it with seasoning, After that I grilled the chicken and sausages because I needed them to be very soft to chew and then set them aside.
Step 2
I washed the cabbage thoroughly because it was too dirty and then cut it into smaller parts, I poured it inside a clean bowl added mayonnaise to it, mixed it well, and added my chili pepper after that I added the grilled chicken then mixed everything.
Step 3
I opened the shawarma bread then turned it to the other side, spread it on my tray added two sausages, and poured the mixture in between the sausages. And then wrapped the first layer to secure the sauce from pouring out and then wrapped it again with the second bread.
My pan was already hot a little bit so added a small quantity of groundnut oil inside the pan to prevent my bread from sticking to it.
I left it for some minutes to heat, and after that my shawarma a ready to eat. Don't mind me I didn't take it with any drink because taking bike to get the cabbage has made me spend more than what I planned for so I just had it like that with water.
