The Magic With My Favourite Music

I remember those times during my childhood when I would use my pocket money to buy music books that had lots of songs with their lyrics, mostly hip hop. I have different types of those books, which are of the latest release, and I would pride myself in singing all songs off head; that is when I would have spent days mastering the lyrics and wherever they sang any of those songs, I would joyfully follow suit and sang those lyrics perfectly without mincing words.

But today, things have changed. I no longer enjoy those hip-hop songs except for the ones that have been accustomed to me from years past and have deep meanings rooted in them. I don't just vibe to any type of music except it is attached to me somehow, either with my emotions or personality. What I enjoy most now is gospel songs filled with great messages that inspire and motivate one.

There are lots of benefits I have experienced just by listening to music, and I would be sharing them with you, and perhaps you would resonate with me on these benefits.

Music has the power to elevate mood and reduce stress. Have you listened to a song that touched your spirit magically or chased away the stress you have had before but vanished at the sound of your favourite music or one you are just listening to for the first time but resonates with you on a deeper level? Such is the case with some of my favourite music I have saved in my playlist.

How about music being a safe space to express your emotion - be it joy, sadness, love or even anger? This is something music does to me anytime I am attached to a particular music that helps me express myself either in gratitude to God, trying to feel sad for something because the lyrics say a whole lot about the situation, or even expressing your love for someone? How about the anger part?

Take, for instance, the song "Lose Yourself" by Eminem. This song has an intense rhythm and powerful lyrics that express determination and frustration. This song will make someone feel angry and release pent-up emotions by singing along to it.

Another thing listening to my favourite music has done for me is how it stimulates my brain, inspiring creativity and opening up new perspectives. When I listen to songs that I love, the magic it does keeps me in awe because, at that moment, I must have my pen and jotter or my phone by my side in case new ideas drop into my mind and for me not to forget or let it skip away, I jot them down and I always enjoy the moment.

Listening to music also gives me comfort, reminding me that in difficult situations, I am not alone. Music offers hope to me and that's something I never take for granted as any time I'm about to feel down or unhappy, I switch to one of my favourite music to do the work of bringing my hopes high and understanding that God is with me in my struggles.

Finally, the song I can listen to over and over again is the one by Anendlessocean titled, "Gratitude." Have you listened to this song? If yes, you would agree with me how this song resonates with us in different ways, especially having reflections on your past life and appreciating God for always coming through.

This song is one I can never get tired of listening to because it reminds me how being grateful is important to God. There are lots of them but this edition says we should talk about one. So, that's it for today.

It is quite funny how I also spent my lunch money to buy those lyrics books back in secondary school.
I would also learn the lyrics and sing along 😂
Music is really powerful.

Yes oo. It was fun to be able to get those books then and it was always a good time learning the songs.

I havent heard this song before but i will look it up and give you feedback how i feel about it

You will sure love the song.

I haven't actually heard any of these songs you listed here before. But then I actually know the great Eminem and he sings good songs.

Yes, you should find time to listen to them and enjoy.

Alright that's for sure.

You said it all about music. I just searched for "Gratitude" by Anendlessocean on my music and it is a good song. I like how the singer fused English and Yoruba in the song.

Yes oo. I love it too. So sweet song.

What I enjoy most now is gospel songs filled with great messages that inspire and motivate one.

With age and maturity comes the craving to listen to songs that resonates with our innermost feelings. At some point, hip-hop becomes noise.

This is the first time that i'm hearing about this person, Anendlessocean.

Except family and loved ones, music is another thing that can help ease our emotions

I don't have feelings like you when it comes to music and so my experience is kind of different from you. But I agree with you that music has the power to make mood good and it's not less than magic. Almost everyone loves music.
