I was scrolling through my phone when the new HL edition notification popped up and decided to check the prompt. That made me decide to explore my phone to see the apps I have and it surprised me how I have never opened these apps since I started using my phone over two years ago. Some of these apps came with the phone while others were downloaded and so, I never thought about exploring most of them except the ones I have always opened because they are part of my daily routine to check them.
It's funny to see that there are some apps you wouldn't even think of opening for a long time until you find your way there and accidentally open one of them and discover their functions.
These are apps I consider useless because I don't open them at all and deleting them wouldn't have an effect on my life. Then, we have some apps that you can't uninstall but leave them there as they come with the phone and it annoys me having them doing nothing and taking the space when I could free up space for the important apps for my usage.
There was an app that I discovered had been lying on my phone for the past 2 years, going to 3 years now and when I went through it, I was amazed at the features in it, I tried them on my phone and saw how beautiful they make the home screen looks, I decided to leave it.
So, while going through my phone apps, I saw these that I would be deleting, thanks to Hive Learners for reminding me again. They are "Smart Things, Galaxy Wearable and Smart Tutor"
I don't know anything about these apps sincerely and it was today I got to explore them to know what they do. When I checked the Smart Things app, it kind of controls one's device with home appliances and other life stuff. I don't even understand it, perhaps someone would be kind to explain that in the comment section. But to me, it's useless because I have never used it and choosing to delete it wouldn't affect me in any way.
Galaxy Wearable. What does it mean? What does it do? As far as it has been lying in my phone for a long time and never thought of using it, it's useless. I don't use it and don't think it would be useful for me later. Luckily, it can be uninstalled.
I wanted to know what this app does, so I tried but it couldn't connect to any device around me to check it out. So, I don't think it's something I would want to keep checking as I may even forget such an app exists on my phone.
Then comes the smart tutor app. This is also considered useless because it's not serving me any purpose. Smart Tutor is a technical support application, that provides troubleshooting and guidance to help solve technical issues with your device. This app helps to optimise device performance when a technical expert works remotely to solve the issues once it is connected.
I am someone who handles phones very carefully and I have never had any records of a phone having a fault and I don't think there would be me trying to use the app for such a purpose. I always make use of the Phoenix app to optimise my device performance and that's it. I don't need this app on my phone and deleting it wouldn't affect me whatsoever.
Another app that is useless to me is Radio. I still can't remember the last time I intentionally decided to listen to the radio on my phone plus the ones I have owned in the previous years. I believe in reading and watching online rather than tuning in to the radio except I find myself around people who listen to the radio but it doesn't make me touch the radio app on my phone. So I consider it useless and should be deleted asap 😒
Don't mind the rest of the app. The useless apps are the Vpn and MTN services.
The reason I had the VPN app was when my sister wanted to give me a job that required using VPN to connect to her country but she had another issue and the job got suspended while she handled it herself. So, the app has been there without touching it. So, I don't need it and wouldn't affect me in any way. Then the mtn service app. What do I use it for when I can always lodge my complaint via message, calling and checking for details online? So, it's useless to me.
