Hi, today I want to share with you a little experience with my son today. Going out on errands like shopping and preparing for a birthday party - his (never mind that mine is before his) with him we came across a new playground.
We've probably walked past it a thousand times. We knew they were going to renovate it, they've actually been renovating it since the summer and it was just put into use a month ago. We stopped by to see it, to "test" it.
This little ninja went crazy! This kid didn't stop running, laughing and looking. The playground looks a lot like ours down the block, but there are differences. Most of the items on this one are wood and the one next to us is mostly metal and plastic.
One of the significant differences is the puzzle.
My son was very busy trying on several "butts" until he found the right ones on the animals.
I liked that they added a steering wheel or ship rudder - I couldn't figure out exactly what it was. But the kids will definitely enjoy it because it spins. AT least for now I've noticed that kids enjoy anything that can be arranged like a tower or rotates.
The second bonus is the binoculars - or "fake binoculars" to be exact, because I tested it too - it doesn't magnify or shrink objects, but it's an option to keep the kids entertained while on the playground.
There are also the ever-so-popular 'swinging animals' on site. The kids sit on the 'black' seat, prop their feet up, and hold hands as they swing wildly. The whole structure is put on a big spring - squeals of delight are guaranteed, though the little one had no interest in it.
There was a second installation in the playground - for older kids, but that didn't mean this little torpedo wouldn't get on it too.
I liked that they thought of the parents too. There are plenty of benches to sit on and even a gazebo with a roof, table and benches. Definitely so you can stand more time on the playground. Of course we brought water - for him. Every ninja has to drink water after a certain number of (unknown) shouts, jumps, runs...
After about an hour, the ninja got tired. He didn't fall asleep on the playground, but he decided he needed to lie on it - to me that was a signal that it was time to go home!
