The previous half a year has been a complete roller coaster of new lifestyle habits being formed and broken. However, amid all the chaos there have certainly been moments of pure bliss that made it some of the best times in my life so far and ultimately made the whole journey worthwhile. It was in this way that I ensured each one of those experiences would be enjoyable as well as frequent opportunities for traveling were guaranteed.
This year started with much hope and positivity. I found myself setting goals for the coming months of my life. Focus on personal development topped most lists while embarking on entrepreneurship came second nature to me; something I’ve always wanted to do since forever. To say it’s been tough would be an understatement with all the curve balls thrown at me left right center but hey, no pain no gain right?
When faced with professional challenges, I consciously make sure that I am taking care of myself and finding comfort because I have only recently come to this realization at my age. Every weekend, I used to run along paths in our garden and admire the beauty of the outdoors. On one particularly lovely morning, I went for an unforgettable boat trip. The noise from fast flowing water as well as its calming coldness brought back memories about slowing down and enjoying simple things in life
Moreover, it was during these times when I also delved into cultural activities. Through attending several art exhibitions and music performances, I got to witness different people’s skills and innovation. However, what stood out most for me was when I attended a live concert by some local jazz artists at the downtown area close by.
Obviously, no year can clean sans a time set aside to rejoice and bond with family. We had numerous dinners and conferences and I hosted my pals in the process. I also staged quite a number of dinner parties plus get-togethers that were characterized by joyous moments shared over good food with kith and kin. Notably, there is this particular night of barbecuing in the backyard which was full of good food, live band music and unending games.
As spring flowed into fall; I seized yet another chance to go out and explore. It was during one of those random road trips that my friends and I took through scenic highways while making breathtaking pit stops along the way. Every stopover from the highlands to the sunlit coasts had its own attraction coupled with natural beauty at its best.
The trip was more enjoyable when we went to the countryside’s most exquisite vineyard which was located on a magnificent hill. We must have regular breaks from the noise and the never-ending activities of every day and what a relief it was to spend an entire day here. As the days got hotter, I would cool off by the pool or at the beach while sunbathing during the day. The warmth of the sun on your skin combined with the refreshing touch of cold water has this unique way to not only heighten your senses but also revitalize you from within; it’s magical.
Gazing at the last six months behind me, I contemplate all that has been- a chain of experiences molding my journey. Since I started my own company, I traveled to new lands to meet my dear ones again; Life has proved more beautiful than I thought even with all these hardships and uncertainties ahead. I am eager for what's coming next and I will be happy to take any chance that comes along that really means this, though it may sound like nonsense.
