Four Working Days And Longer Working Hours? No!

in #hive-153850last month

Sometime ago, if you ever asked me what I want to become, I’d tell you I wan to be a baby girl for a living. Well, I knew fully well that I want to be an entertainer but at the same time, I never wished to work.
Till now, I still don’t feel like doing any other work aside from being an entertainer even though I have a mini mart but running it is quite easy aside from some date that may be stressful especially when I’d have to go to the market and that’s the most stressful part of it just like today that I’ve been to the market this morning.

Things have changed now and I want to make money but still not work. It’s not possible, right? I don’t feel like working but I just have to. That’s the logic. If you had asked me then if I wanted us to have four working days, honestly, I would not hesitate. If it’s possible not to ever work, that would have been the best option but not anymore.

How do I think things will be if we only only had four working days in a week

No matter how bad something can be, we will surely have something to benefit from it. It will be good of course. A lot of people will have more time to have fun and even spend more time with their family.
Especially men, there are so many people who don’t get to spend time with their family or even get to have a good rest because they are working every time so this will surely have a way of helping them boost their mental health and they may even get the time to go for regular check ups to stay healthy. We are likely to see more people have quality times with their family.

The bad side of it is that it may make people less productive especially those who don’t go home to work more or even learn more until they get to their workplace during the following week.
Imagine working four days a week and you are taking three days break, don’t you think it is too much?

Don’t you think you are likely to forget the things you have learned if you take three days break?
Don’t you think you may slack if you get to work the following week?
I say no to this because three days break is too much especially if we don’t want to get rusty at work.

What if it is for four days but longer hours at work?

I still say no to this. If you spend longer hours at work, you are likely to get less productive because as human beings, we are not supposed to work ourselves out or out work ourselves. We need break and that is why it is better to always work eight to nine hours at work then go home to rest for the next day instead of spending ten to twelve hours at work.
This will only make you tired and it is likely for you to come and make some corrections on the next day because you did what you did out of tiredness.

Would I prefer to stick to five working days a week?

I guess we should go on with this. Four working days in a week and the longer weekend makes sense but some people will still not do the most important things they need to do during the weekend no matter how much or how short the weekend may be.

If you are willing to do something with your family or whatever you want to do you can still get it done even though the weekend may be short.

I'm in favor of the 4 day work week.. for those who need/ want to work..

Hehe😁😁

I would also prefer to stick to the five working days and my normal working hours cause imagine working twelve hours in four days, that would be worse.

It’s really going to be bad

Having a family is something important, satisfying but you have to dedicate time to it

You’re very correct

Everything has its positives and negatives, but I think having more days for oneself is a more humane condition. People need to live and work less, haha!

Hehe😅😅

If I were single i would go for the four day a week and longer hours but the five day model just works better around school and such.

Ideally I could work from home at my own business but I'm afraid that ship has sailed long time again
.

Ooh that’s a good thought

I feel anyone who learns to forget is not even ready to learn in the first place. Being home for 3 days doesn’t mean you should forget about what you are to do and not prepare ahead of the next week. I’d like to believe it all has to do with the individual.

You’re right but it’s like they’d slack when they get to work for a while after the break

Yeah that’s true.

I don't agree that working four days rather than the regular five would make anyone slavk in the job duties or even forget anything. To the best of my knowledge, that three days free time gives people much more time to do their other personal businesses and rest enough in order to be energized enough to resume duties.

As for the duration of hours, we both know that people are already spending far more time on the job than their agreement stipulates.

Whatever the case, if the four-day thing were to be implemented, employers should let their staff choose what works for them.

I get your point, though, baby girl for life😀😊

Hmm
Well, make all of us do what’s best for us😅

I love your point and I will also stick to the five days and the current working hours. The weekend is something everyone looks forward to even though it is always a short one and then, boom, work resumes the next week.

Abi ooh
Even if we’re given three days weekend, we’d still complain that it is short

My dear i prefer my normal working hours i can’t work for that long hour.

Abi oh

I agree more work hours per day is damaging and you are less productive for sure, but reducing to 4 days a week can be still productive for some careers sometimes even more.

Yes if they know how to use their time wisely
