The Government Should Do Something About It.

Sometimes, living outside Lagos can be hell but not in every aspect. Lagos state is full of so many infrastructures but at the same time, there are so many things which are being ignored especially good roads and clean water in some parts.
I’m a big fan of Lagos state and I always want to make sure that I do anything to make it clean or even support the state even though I’m not an indigene of Lagos as I was only born there.
My parents have a house in Lagos and another in the outskirts of Lagos. Right now, they live in the outskirt of Lagos right now called Matogun, Ogun State.
These days, I’ve been spending more time at home because I’ve got something to sort for now. So, I can fully say that I live in Matogun.

I don’t know what you feel about this but I feel Ogun State is generally full of bad roads for those who know or for those who live there especially the Ifo Local Government which is my vicinity. We lack so many things here like good road, a general hospital, banks, police stations and so many things.

It’s equal to we living in the village.
Even though I know the government may not be able to solve all of these problems at the same time, which one I do I feel can be resolved first? Since the government has failed to provide all that I have mentioned, I feel they should at least give us a good road.

Good roads

I’d start with a question. If you want to open a bar business, bank, event center or a big business, would you like to build it in a rural area? You answer may be yes but how about an area like this?
Be honest with me, do you like this road?

How would a sane person own a business around this area? It’s so unfair and this is why we lack so many social amenities around here and even if we want to do the slightest thing like make a complaint in the police station, go to the bank or things of sort, we’d have to go to Lagos state since Lagos is just seventeen minutes far from here but the bad road will make you drive slowly and delay you. If not for that, Lagos is just fifteen to seventeen minutes away from here.

How do we cope?

We’re trying our best to live with it. Ever since my parents started living here, I knew the essence of the Community Development Association. We are the ones who always spend our money to make sure that we try to fix the road in a little way that we can but the road is not something that the community can do and that’s why we need the government’s intervention.

Luckily, the governor of Ogun State came to our area a month ago. He apologized to us for living in that kind of area and he promised to do something about it immediately.
Yesterday, I heard that they have begun to repair the road. That’s a good news but I hope they do it well that it will last.

This road has been like that for years and I’m sure that by the time they complete the renovation, things will begin to get better and I think the first thing I’d love to have there is a police station.
Let’s see how this goes.

Sort:

Politicians and promises are 5 and 6, let's just be positive that the road gets fixed to enable easy movement.

This road is very bad
I dislike coming to your area😅😅

I really hope that they take care of something as important and vital as the roads, especially because it is something vital for the economy of the place, to deliver food more quickly and move quickly in times of emergencies.

It is very encouraging that you as a community are doing your best to solve this problem and I congratulate you for taking the initiative, I believe that always working from the community without involving politicians, better things are achieved. Keep working on it.

I would love that road.. I'd lock in the 4wd and have a blast..

Hehe😅

I remember falling inside this kind of mud from the bike

Hopefully, they'll fix it soon. Because I know just how these guys love to make promises but never deliver. It can be quite frustrating sha, using over an hour to cover a fifteen minute journey. Almost insane.

You’re right
I’m hoping for the best though

Good roads are a must even in villages. I hope yours will be fixed soon. It must be very difficult to drive in them as they are muddy, unless your car is a 4x4.

Personally I don't believe the promises of all these politicians until it's implemented, but let's see how it goes.

Bad road is one of the pressing issues in our country and it disheartened most of Ogun state governor only invest in the capital and leave other local government in the mud.

I’m even happy that you know about this

Roads are very important, look at the Romans when they conquered new places and see that one of the first things they built were roads. If this was already important back then, why don't governments understand this today?

This is not a good sight to behold at all, thank God for the good heart of the communalist. I just hope the government keeps to his words and do a solid project too that will last for years

Better that you people are not waiting for the government cus if you do, then you might wait forever and in the end get nothing fixed.

indeed the government need to do something about it. Can't Imagine been fully dressed for work and then someone splashed water chai!!
