Hello everyone! @saydie here and it is my great pleasure to be part Newbies Initiative to help new Hive users. I would also like to congratulate my team leader for team 3, @moremoney28 , and the rest of the participants for being part of this program and hope to see everyone finish the entire course.
For this post, I will layout my Hive Goals for the next 2 months and my strategy on how to reach that goal. I find this to be an important topic to tackle since not only it will give direction to my actions on Hive, it will also help me to grow as individual.
What is goal setting to you?
Goal Setting for me is the way a person envisions a desired outcome or result and how they can be achieved. Goal Setting gives you a direction on on what you want to achieve. But it is not enough to just set a goal, it should also be followed with a plan. Without proper planning, one may find it difficult or would take too much time and energy to reach their goal.
Why do you need to set smart goals?
What I learned from reading @starstrings01 's post is that we should follow SMART GOALS when setting goals.
- Specific - What exactly is the goal, what do you want to be.
We need to be specific in setting our goals because we will have a clear picture of it. For example, when someone ask to buy fruit, what comes to your mind might be different from the one asking you want to buy because it's vague, making you confuse and do not know what to choose but when he says something specific like a red apple, you can just go strait to the market to buy it.
- Measurable - What process do you need to take to achieve this goal.
We need to know the process to achieved that goal because it will allow us to work on it faster and if there are tools that we may use in order to make it easier to achieve.
- Achievable - It has to be something possible for you to achieve.
We need our goals to be in touch with reality and something that we can actually do. We should also consider if we have the resources and time for it or else, our goals are bound to fail before we even start.
- Relevant - It has to be something you really desire to achieve.
We need our goals to be relevant and something we want to achieve because if not, we will just lose motivation as the time goes by.
- Time-Bond - You have to set a period of time to achieve this goal. for this case, i.e. it is in 3 months.
We need to specify a time duration for our goals because if not, we would just set it aside, saying we will do it later or tomorrow but when the later and tomorrow comes, we would just make the same excuse until it becomes a loop and we ended up not working towards the goal.
My Hive Goals for the Next 2 Months
Hive Power
Achieve a total of 1000 HP within the next 60 days.
As of the writing of this post, I have a total of 627.06 HP within my account and for me to reach my goal of 1000 HP, I would need a total of 372 HP to accomplish it. Based on my previous month curation of 199.52 HP and 78.57 HBD so it is possible to achieve my goal using HP rewards alone if I would earn around the same amount within the next 2 months and abstain from power down.
Even if I only earn half of it, I can still convert my HBD earnings to Hive and use it to power up my Hive Power.
My Followers
Get a total of 75 followers within the next 60 days
I could have aim for more followers but what I want will be real followers. Currently, I have a total of 51 followers with me and my plan is to get another 24 of them to have a total of 25 followers. To achieve this, I plan on making blogs on communities I'm interested for a higher chance of meeting people that have the same interest with me. I would comment on their post regularly and if they have a discord channel, I could have chat them there to build a relationship.
For example, I actively post on the Splinterlands community. I can comment on other users about different card strategies so I could make engagement, hoping that they will be following me in the future.
My Engagement
Achieve a total of 1000 comments within the next 60 days.
Ever since I start interacting on Hive, I have made a total of 692 comments and for the duration of the program, I also want to reach 1000 comments so they will be the same with my Hive power. To reach this goal, I only need to engage on quality post that I like and share the same interest. There are also some communities that requires you to comment on a post so that will make engagement mandatory not only for me but also for other users.
Consistency
Make at least 3 post per week.
For this goal, I do not want it to just last for the duration of the program but to make it a hobby to post at least 4 quality blog every week. For the first 2 post, it is a sure thing that I can do by entering Splinterlands Social Media and Battle Mage Secrets Challenge and for the last one, I have joined other communities with different prompts to choose from and from that, I can choose what to write.
My Reputation
Reach 69 Reputation within 60 days.
The higher the reputation is, the harder for it to increase and currently, I have 67 reputation. For me to be able to increase my reputation, I need to be consistent with following my goals above and post quality content to be upvoted by people and curation projects.
What makes them SMART GOALS
The Goals that I mention above follows the SMART GOALS because I have made it clear and Specified what my goals are and have a time duration of when I needed this goals to be achieved. I also make them realistic and reachable so I and is within the bounds of my capabilities and the resources that I have access to. I am also very passionate with my Hive Goals so I am confident that I will be able to reach them within the duration of the program.
Conclusion
With this, I have laid down my Hive goals and my strategy to achieve them. It might only be a short term goal but I was hoping that I can use this as a basis for a long term goal and for you to also have an idea how to make your goals. I want to express my gratitude to newbies-hive and Hive Learners for initiating this project as well as for @theycallmedan and the @aliento team for supporting this project.
Thank you for reading my post and see you on the next task!
