Good day to every esteemed member of this great platform and I hope we're all doing well in our various ways? In line with this week's topic that has to do with how we drink our water to and still stay safe.
We envision a society in which all people have unfettered access to safe and clean water. When a society gets access to clean water, it changes just everything. It can improve their health, access to good food, local economy growth and education. We are in a world where people are always sensitized on how to access a clean and safe water. We understand that so many developing countries lack this and some people have taken it upon themselves to either create awareness for safe water or go all out to install ways to access clean water by digging wells, drilling boreholes, etc, and these innovations has really been of great help to people.
Recently, I got deployed to Ebonyi state as a Corp member to serve my fatherland (Nigeria) few weeks back and on getting here, I discovered that their water isn't so clean, though, it looks clean but it isn't because it feels slippery when we pour it on our body and also doesn't really form soap lather when we pour in soap to wash clothes, even their so called satchet water gives a particular odd taste.
Ever since then, I always make sure to boil the water I drink to kill all microorganisms with heat and let it cool down so that the water can be safe for consumption. I also went to camp with some bottles of water guard just Incase I meet myself in situations like this and I'm happy I did. At some point, boiling of my drinking water was no longer feasible because I pay to get my water boiled for me so I resulted in using water guard for my drinking water and disinfectant for my bathing and washing water. Now, let's talk about water guard as I'm not sure so many people knows about it....
Water guard is a point-of-use treatment for residential drinking water that uses a diluted solution of sodium hypochlorite. To obtain a pure water, fill a capful or half into the foggy water, mix water thoroughly and keep it clean. Give it half an hour to settle and decant the good and clean part of the water from the decanted sediments.
N.B; If the water is not in a covered container, On the day that the water was treated, use and drink it. Do not remove water from the container with your hands, a cup, or any other object to maintain the cleanliness of the water.
I think I've been able to share with you all how I drink my water. Thanks for stopping by my post 🤗🤗.
