Equality is the state of being equal. A situation whereby people, both men and women are being treated fairly and also have the same opportunity.
We're all created equal, no one has two heads, we all carry one head but what differentiate us is our country, family, religion, tribe etc. even though this shouldn't be a barrier but unfortunately it's.
Talking of our respective countries, a lot of people are suffering from racism in the country there are in presently although some countries are against it. You see people discriminating due to skin colour. Because some are black skinned, some white skinned might separate themselves from them, won't want to have anything to do with them, and even treat them badly.
This is not good enough as everyone needs to be treated the same, I don't think there's anyone that created himself or herself so we shouldn't be discriminating or hate people because of their skin color or race. We're all beautiful people and should respect one another.
Moreso, some families are very rich, notable and highly respected in the society, these sets of people get virtually all their things done easily, talk about school, job etc. Due to their connections, they get whatever they want easily without much stress. Whereas those that come from a family that's not well to do always finds it difficult to get their things done easily, What a world hmm...
A friend of mine went for an interview sometime ago, and when he was later allowed to go in for the interview, the interviewer asked him "from who"? he was short of words, dont even know what to say, the question "from who" means if he has a backing, connections or has a slot maybe he knows a notable personality in the society that can stand for him but since he had no one like that he was asked to come back later and those that had someone/connections were attended to.
Left to me, I'll say most people don't regard or practise equality. Most of us does things to favour some set of people that knows the rich or the people in power and leave the other ones stranded.
Love: Love is the greatest commandment, if we can love our neighbors just like ourselves, we won't want to hurt them, cheat them, discriminate, look down on them, or ignore them when they need our help.
I think we've virtually forget love, whereas there's so much power in it. All the evil things we see and hear today is basically because there's no love, most people are now very selfish, who's only after their own well being but do not bother at all about others, which is very bad. We need to show love to one another, care for one another and see ourselves as one, with these the world will become a better place.Orientation and broadcasting: I think there's still much work to done in the area of creating awareness about equality, some people don't really understand the meaning and it's importance, so teaching people about it will really help, maybe on radio programs, TV programs even in our respective place of worship such as mosque and churches. When we constantly hear these things, I believe things will change for good.
Gender equality: A man and a woman should also have equal rights, they are both human beings so why deprive a woman her rights. Like a saying that goes thus "what a man can do, a woman can do better. When women are given the opportunity to do somethings they can actually do better than some men, so if a woman can be bold enough that she wants to take responsibility of serving a particular place they should be given the chance, who knows maybe she's the saviour of that region, state or country.
Equality is key lets do well to put it into practice.
Thanks for stopping by.
