Hello great mind! I had just finished a nice Nigerian delicacy made from the Eastern part of the nation called NSALA soup" This soup is common among the Igbo tribe in Nigeria. Believe me, I have been skeptical about trying out some their meal as I am born and bread in the south-western part of the nation. Mind you, in Nigeria, a country rich in diverse culture and different delicacy of food, this foods are peculiar to each tribe depending on the geographical location. However, due to migration and intercultural businesses in the nation, some of these chefs or cook like we popularly refer to them here will usually migrate to a location where their people are most resident just so that they would have their special delicacy at their own beck and call.

Back to the main gist!

There's is this Igbo woman here in Lagos who sells variety of Igbo delicacies and a couple of soups peculiar to the Yorubas. Each time I visit her, all I want to eat are soups peculiar to the south-western part of the nation and she knows me for this. There was a particular day when she proposed that I give it a try with of her prepared Igbo delicacy know as NSALA soup At first, I was skeptical about trying out the delicacy and I finally consent to her persuasive demand (Because I am her regular customer). The second turn off for me again was the sight of the soup as it looked like the usual pepper soup I am familiar with. The Igbo calls this kinda soup white soup
Anyways, I finally agree to have the meal served on my table and that began the change of mentality I use to have while growing up about the skeptical believe that south-westerns(Yorubas) have about the Igbo meals. I ordered for "fufu" a morsel meal made from cassava (it is meant to be swallowed alongside any soup it's served with). Here is the suggested NSALA soup on my table and here am I with a skeptical notion that I am about to waste my hard earn money. I took the first bite and voi·là the taste was superb. I just couldn't believe that this delicacy will greet me with such a great taste and off course, I am blown away. Lol! Never have I felt such a great taste in a long time. This is captivating! As much as I know that the soup is made of vegetables and different kind of assorted meats, I still haven't enquire the exact recipe of the delicacy. I look forward to preparing it my self one day. In the mean time, I am now a fan of this once forsaken delicacy that I usually would by pass. If you are a Nigerian or you have access to a Nigerian restaurant in diaspora and haven't tried the NSALA soup, I urge that you one day give it a try. You will surely thank me.

I had finished eaten the meal before thinking about taking a picture but I'll sure do next time. Lol. I promise!

Thanks for time!
