Last week, I finished my last paper and signed out from the university. It was a very joyous moment for me and I really appreciate everyone who took the time to leave a comment on my signing out post. It is well appreciated.
Now that I have signed out, you might be thinking that I am completely done with school but that is not so. There are still some things left out to finish up before I can say I am completely done. And to list those things, we have my final year project, post-data, final defense, project exhibition, clearance and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Program to process before I can say I am finally done with school.
But at this stage that I am, I have the rest of mind that I do not need to be running about studying for a class or test any longer which in a way feels good. The main focus for now is my final year project. I had earlier written a post about the project, and if you would like to check it out, here is it: Presenting a Final Year Project on UAVs
My project is divided in two phase, which is the hardware phase and the software phase. The hardware is the building of the drone and the software is the building of the machine learning aspect. We happen to be four on my project and my duty on the project is building the drone.
To build the drone, I have been able to get the parts from AliExpress and also been able to assemble it. I faced a lot of challenges in getting the parts, right from having a dollar card that can buy things from the internet to the error in ordering the wrong item.
Yes this is my drone, and it has only been able to lift to the sky once, not literally fly per se. I am using a f450 drone frame, with a kk2 2.1.5 flight controller and 1000 kV motors. I did not expect that the drone would take this long before flying; I actually thought it would be easier to configure. I think the issue is that I may have missed something so I planned to solve the issue by restarting the factory default and beginning the configuration process from the beginning.
The main aim on my mind now is to be done with drone, allow it to fly before my post data on thursday so that I can get all the mark possible on this project. There are still other things to prepare myself for the coming post-data, which are the project write-up and presentation slides but the most important of all is to get the drone to start flying.
