Money can't buy you Knowledge - Focus on Studies.

Sharing some mythological aspects in todays life alwsys fascinates me. It alwsys give some insightful aspects to life. Today, this is going to be an interesting read to know, as many people of today's generation are not aware of it. As per "Hindu mythology, Lakshmi and Saraswati are often depicted as quarreling with each other." Now what made me to bring this topic is that Lakshmi is considered to to be the Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity, while Saraswati is considered to be Goddess of Art and Knowledge. However, Lakshmi and Saraswati are also often worshipped together for success. In some traditions, Lakshmi can come with Saraswati because knowledge is wealth. Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth, fortune, and material and spiritual fulfillment, while Saraswati is the goddess of learning, arts, and music, and spiritual serenity. Some say that if either goddess is missing, the outcome is suboptimal.

These were alwsys been taught to us by my elders. They never let us to spend money or look out for a source of income during our academic days. In a nutshell, since our childhood we were taught that, knowledge and money never goes hand in hand. If there is money involved into education system, then the kids might strayed into making more money, on the other hand, If kid is made to focus only on studies i.e knowledge then then they end up making huge wealth later. At today's time, everything comes down to money. Every aspect of life were alwsys weighs on money. Even the education is under the influence of money. Education has becomes a good money making business, and now we often sees that money is making into the way of student studies.

Money minded.

Whenever, a student comes top or did some brilliance in their studies, they were given some monetary rewards. From the institutes to various government department everybody is ready to woo the student with monetary aspect. But the question still remain, what the student will do with money? At times when they needed to focus on studies. The moment a person comes in touch with money, they start to spend and loses all their interest in studies. I have an example to highlight in this context:

There was a guy who won 5 million INR in the Indian version of US based series"who wants to be millionaire". He was a bright student, but since the day he made it to the show winner, he gets into some bad habbits. After few years, we learned that he loses all his money and now living in a small kutcha house. When the money came into his life, he loses all his knowledge and strayed into some unscrupulous activity.

In our academic days, many of us have been bribed by our parents to fair well in examination. They alwsys readyy to buy something or get a treat for fairing well. At least I can say, it for myself. Such kind of offer alwsys motivates us to do good in examination. Later on similar concepts were introduced into the education system. But this time, the rewards were in terms of cash. There is alwsys a difference between getting a rewards in cash or in kind. When we get something in kind we make use of it accordingly, but when we get rewards in cash we end up making multiple plans to spend which ultimately disrupt the focus on studies. Even nowadays at many government aided school, students were rewarded with laptops or cycles or educational items. Avoiding I producing them to cash. Such things is a good motivational factor too.

Many indian families were on the views of not involving their kids into money world untill they attain the age of adulthood. That is they completes the age of 18 years. This allows the kids to stay focus into their studies, while the parents were ready to make all the arrangements and provision for their studies. In my opinion, the educational institutes or other academics colleges too follow such system. Rather than awarding minor kids with cash they should ensure to hand over the amount to their parents who will guide and look into the matter of the ward studies. In case of major students, the money should be spend only for acquiring higher knowledge rather than letting them to use leisurely.

Money has alwsys been the biggest distraction for any person. The moment, they comes in contact with moneybthey started dreaming to spend in multiple way and eventually ended us ruining their life. However, the case is completelly opposite to those who are educated and a quired the knowledge to spend the money mindfully. This is the reason that, I started writing this content elaborating on the quarrel reason between goddess Saraswati and Goddess Lakshmi. Hopefully I ended up adding sense to my topic.

Peace!

Knowledge is a very powerful thing and it is important to have it, money can pay for a university for example but there is some knowledge that is priceless!

You have to know how to use money wisely

True words....but to make money and to make use of ot wisely one should have proper knowledge....my crux aimed at a situation when money involvement in academics results in distraction.....better to avoid the distraction

Of course it is a distraction and it is better to concentrate on what is really important.

Thank you @ewkaw 😊

Your title caught my attention. It all boils down to responsible spending. And I agree, kids shouldn't be introduced to money unless they know how to earn it and of legal age.

It is like focusing on a thing at a time...either a person should focus on studies or to make money.....if we mix both it will results in mess

hmmm i think they go together though in a way. Sometimes you need money to have access to certain knowledge aka courses online or just even getting a professional cert or degree etc. there's a paywall in most cases not counting those countries that are free but technically paid by taxes.

But to give students money I don't think is a good idea. If parents want to give then that's fine that's up to them but it shouldn't be given by the school. Teachers are already not paid that well, i'd rather pay the teachers more~
