What a good start to another week with this amazing topic. Family is always everything be it large or small because what matters is that we have those to share love ❤️ with and bond that is priceless.

Am so happy to have come from a large family of three (3) boys and three (3) girls, totaling eight (8) of us when my parents are included. Two boys being the seniors before my senior sister. Then another boy after her before my junior sister and I. I love ❤️ this set up so much because it was indeed a standard family size in the era before the Millennium.

As we were all growing up together under one roof, I learnt so much of how important it is to have seniors around you who teaches you some certain things you need to know. And these were the days when showing respects to our senior siblings are seen as something very important because of the bond it brings in the family.And apart from my first family which is known as the immediate, my linage is a very large one due to how my grandfather had lots of children, my father being among the juniors.

My grandparents had up to twelve (12 ) children and you can imagine what it was like in those days as they believe children are like wealth during their time. The olden days was never days of education, so parents then believe in farming which was sustainable. And with this kind of extended family I had lots of good memories of how we use to visit our uncles especially during festivities, meeting with our cousins and bonding together as time went by.

And some times during the holidays we will travel 🧳 to stay with our aunties and will be so delighted for the change of environment with the good things that comes with them. I also however experienced how good small sized families are because during some of the holidays visits to our extend families, one of my uncles just had only two girls then because the wife was a midwife and works in the hospital 🏥. I enjoyed being with their daughters who are my cousins. We will have the house the to ourselves without much stress like cooking large meals or having too many noise in the house because once their father is off to business and mother off to work, everywhere will be so calm which we enjoy so much by just reading 📖 and telling stories. So I could say every family size has their perks depending on what their lifestyles are and how they enjoy it because things where very aligned in those days without money 💰 being the problem.

Remembering those days, if I have a chance or choice I will still want to come from a large family because of how large family brings so much love ❤️ amongst themselves through excitement of events, memories of each person having their personalities and even the fighting sometimes is what we remember and laugh 😂it off.

Then the feelings of having many people to travel and visit when we are all grown was the excitement. But talking of this present era, nobody is dreaming or thinking of large families because things has drastically changed. The way Technology , Innovation and AI brought changes is the way other things are changing. Cost of living is the first thing we consider now while having children. Then the price to education which is essential in this era. This change has started many years back now and many are being so cautious to the numbers of children they want to have considering how things are. For me I just had two (2) girls which years back I felt was just cool for my husband and I . My girls are grown now and in the universities. You can imagine what it takes now to go to a good university with the present cost of living. Am very happy 😃 that we made such a choice then without listening to our parents who was urging us to have more, saying God is the one that takes care of children. We need to save ourselves some stress to avoid some unforeseen circumstances.

My present immediate family is one I will continue to love ❤️because its ideal and welcoming. This size of family is one that can give us the opportunities of extended family visiting us from time to time which is one of African families delights haha 😆.
