Ten Minutes

Hi, hivers.
How are you all doing? A happy new week to you all.

Ten minutes
Imagine you have the opportunity to travel to the past, any year at all in your lifetime. But only for ten minutes. What will you accomplish in that short time frame? What are the things you will try to change? Feel free to tell us.

Coulda woulda shoulda. The fact is, if you went back to a certain point in your history armed with what you know of how the events of your life would go, and changed something, you wouldn’t be the same person you are now by the time you reached this age. I think there would be a lot of changes.

A little background info: Well September 13 2017 is a day I'll never forget, it was on a Wednesday, very early in the morning my mum was complaining of chest pain, and how something was moving inside her body, my elder sister and I woke up hold hands and prayed with her. After praying I think she was a little relieved from the pain and slept.

Then 6 am she woke up and was preparing for work because she was strong, and I couldn't say anything when she was leaving the house. I was at home trying to make my hair cause my cousin's wedding was to hold that same week, so I was getting prepared for it.

After I finished making my hair, I came back to the house then my younger brother told me my stepsisters are looking for me, and I was like why my poor mind I thought they wanted to hold a meeting for the wedding but I never knew they came for something else.

When I saw them I ran to hug them, and they were like "your hair is fine, fine girl, so one of them asked me to go inside and wear something else then lock up the house and follow them I didn't ask any question so I locked up the house then followed them.

At first, they took me to our aunty's place, stayed there for about an hour, then took me somewhere, the place we went to afterward was filled with my family member, from my father's side and my mother's family members. Seeing those faces I got scared, and my elder sister wasn't there. None of them were smiling or even opening their mouth, they were just looking at me. I thought something bad has happened to my sister, but at that point, it was the only thing that crossed my mind.

Then my mum's elder brother approached me and held my hand to sit somewhere else, then I asked my uncle where I is sister? and he said your sister is fine, tears started rolling down my eyes, and my body started shaking. Because it's only when something bad has happened that you'll see your entire family gather like this, I was so scared.

Then my mum's elder sister came crying, shouting, and rolling herself on the ground. Then she stood up came to me and was like "Tarila your mother is dead". Immediately my elder sister walked in crying and was coming to hug me, I became speechless. The only thing that came out of my mouth was "where is she" then they said they've taken her to the mortuary then I knew it was serious.

What I will accomplish
I know everyone will die someday but this particular one took me unaware, I've never dreamt of losing my mum sooner or later cause she was very young, I've always had the plains of seeing her grow old and also watching her grandchildren grow.

So if I have the opportunity to travel to the past, I think is to prevent my mum from dying, I wouldn't have allowed her to leave the house that day, I would have taken her to the hospital for a proper medical checkup and take care of her, just sit beside her all day, I know it is impossible but if and only I had the opportunity I would appreciate it.

Cheers🌹🌹

Very emotional event. So sorry about the early death of your mother. May her soul rest in peace.

Thank you friend..

You're welcome

Even when we know that all living things will surely die, it still does not numb the pain of losing a loved one. It is one of the most painful things in the world. But you can take comfort in knowing she is now in a better place.
May her soul rest in peace.
Thank you for sharing this touching story with us.
