I believe that we mustn’t have a supernatural power to be called a hero. When we simply do things to save humanity then we are also called heroes too. Today I’d be sharing the heroic story of uncle Stanley in the hostel dormitory.

THE ELECTROCUTION STORY
If you lived in the secondary school dormitory, then you’d have an idea of how the wiring connections in school dormitory look like. For my school which started in the year 1990, up till date. You should guess how the hostel would like, as at my time in the school there wasn’t any hostel renovations. The hostel was last renovated in the year 1995, and imagine how the hostel would be looking in the year 2013.

The scariest part was that the wiring pattern and connections were in a mess. Students automatically became electrical engineers at school because it’s either they are fixing the burnt wire that supplies light to the bulb or they are fixing an old switch for charging their lanterns. Sometimes when you enter the hostel, you would have to bend down in order to pass. This was because most wires were swinging very low in the hostel.

Some naked wire were covered with ordinary tape. To add more kerosene to the fire our hostel bunks were iron. We all know that iron is a good conductor of electricity, but students really managed to survive in such jungle called a hostel.

One day something happened, as usual the school normally put on their soundproof generator by 6:30 pm to enable students carry out their evening activities based on the school time table. This time around things were different from usual. The generator was put on, while students went about their normal activities. Suddenly we heard a wailing sound from hostel D3, at this point you don’t know what is happening but you have to run into the hostel to see for yourself. Everybody headed to the hostel I know what happened, only for us to see 5 students electrocuted together at the iron bunk.

This was my first time seeing human beings gradually getting fried by electricity. Everybody started panicking, but the problem was that there wasn’t any major switch to shut down the whole hostel light. This was because the major, switch was far from hostel and before anybody could reach there it’d be too late. Suddenly we saw uncle Stanley our hostel master with a plane plastic running towards the victims, he used it to push one of the students on direct contact with the iron bunk. Then he used a plier to clip the wire touching the iron bunk.

Immediately he clipped the wire, the electrocution seized. Then he sent us to tell the light prefect to go put off the generator. This was how uncle Stanley saved those students from being electrocuted to death. Funny enough students didn’t want to go close to the victims because they knew, about electric conduction. Imagine a scenario where uncle Stanley didn’t come, those students Would have died. They were finally rushed to hospital using uncle Stanley’s car.

This was how uncle Stanley saved the day, he is still alive till date. He was even awarded best hostel master that year. Indeed that was really a heroic act, and we would never forget him for that.

Sort:

Uncle Stanley was truly a hero for the lives he has saved. This is so serious. Why on Earth would they use iron o make hostel rooms.? And why do the school allow something like this without finding solution to put hose wires reconnected.?

Wow... thankfully he was able to think clearly on his feet, if not the story would also have been different. I am sure those students would never forget Uncle Stanley.
