Life has a whole lot in stock for each and every individual who has been and is on the face of the planet. Life is not just about breathing but a conjunction of different experiences as existence progresses. The natural course of living of man from birth to death is plagued by ups and downs that make up who that man eventually evolves into which can be said to be influenced by hard work and luck.
Naturally, I believe that to be successful in life, the two entities have to go hand in hand. I think hard work has more impact than luck. The Holy book even says ‘Whatever you find to do with your hands, do it with all your might’. Hard work basically entails you doing diligently in anything you find your hands doing, learning and upgrading consistently your skills at different points as well as maintaining a good track record. Hard work could entail different things. Say you are a student (studying engineering), you’d that hard work in this sense is to attend classes, read well and study smart. Or you are an employee at a company, getting to work early and smashing the daily or monthly goals attached to your position, hard work takes the bulk of it.
Hardwork Pays!
An average Nigerian parent must have emphasized that to his wards because they have seen that it actually does and still is. I don’t think anyone you see up there, succeeds and stands the test of time did it by sheer luck, what I see is a lot of hard work buried in that pedestal.
However, life may not be fare sometimes. The essence of luck, I believe, is the universe’s way of rewarding your hard work at certain stages. Luck brings opportunity as a result of what you do or the skills you hone in order to elevate you to the next stage of life relative to what you do. It would be a wrong notion to think that luck alone runs things.
When luck gets an opportunity down to your doorstep and does not meet your ability to match up with it, you either lose the opportunity or do badly at it. If I were the initiator of such, I don’t think I would want my recommendation to fail me in that instance. In a case where it does not meet what is meant to be, and you are allowed to ride on with it or learn on the job so to say, that is more than luck, which brings us to the next…
Above Works.
Again, I believe the physical realm we see does not just exist on its own, there has to be an underlying entity. The spiritual realm controls it. Where luck ends, grace or favour takes it up from there. You know, you can never be too prepared for what is to come every time. Life itself can be unpredictable. So at times, you can still get certain opportunities that you may not have worked for or even match up to the requirements, all thanks to grace or its relative counterparts. But I am sure it still has to meet you doing something tangible in the first place.
