On a reasonable scale, motivational contents are not all that flattery. We are humans, it's only 'logical' to assume it as too much work or stupidity following the advise of a motivational speaker. At least, you will be energized.
Even if we do follow, the energy won't last, so we tend to relax.
There are three elements responsible for our emotions:

One out of them is dopamine.
We've been conditioned to always seek after events responsible for immediate dopamine effect, such as chasing love or experiencing love, going for instant gratification, and all things relating to that.

Dopamine is a reward system. Human derive joy from it. It makes us look forward
But dopamine doesn't last, it's wired in the brain. It's always about immediate fulfillment and satisfaction and once the satisfactions are not met, it's deactivated. Once deactivated, going back to the normal routine initiated by 'motivation' becomes difficult.
Then we conclude that motivation doesn't work, that it's stupid and immature, whereas it's indiscipline at work.

Imagine such an energy from this guy, lol.
The gaming industry understands the dopamine effect, that's why there's always rewards after the end of every challenge which makes us look forward to the next challenges thereby battling to level up, acquiring new weapons, and so on.
In so doing, we are happy. The only sad moments is when we failed to keep up. Despite the failures, knowing the rewards we are meant for, we persist.

That's game.
Despite that, it's surprising that human find it easy to give up on real life challenging tasks.
Once we come across obstacles, we hibernate and refuse to use that as stepping stones.
Failure should be part of the natural games of life and we should embrace it because it's the only ladder to success.
Recently, I realized that life is not boring in its entirety. It becomes boring as soon as you stop expanding your zone, as soon as you keep on doing the same thing you've been doing everyday.
If we do apply the gaming principles to living; dropping our emotional baggages as we do grenades, taking on new challenges, leveling up everyday, developing oneself and one's mind, visiting new places, then we will realize the enormous joy and fulfillment that comes with consistency... living will be more meaningful.
That's if you are done settling.
That's how the dopamine recycling happens.
That's where self-love begins.
That's when you will realize motivational contents are not flattery, just be mindful of the contents you consume.
BE MINDFUL: We can't be masters of our games without failing. Every master was once a disaster.
Don't ever settle in this game of life. Keep building, keep growing.
