The Contumers Are Not Always Right

This phrase above is a widely used one by customers who want to take advantage of a trader or merchant. Most times, the scenario makes sense but every other time, it is not really making any bit of sense.
You want to know the funniest thing about this phrase? it is not complete. Yes, you read it well the stuff that most customers are using to swindle traders is not in full. The full one is "the customers are always right when it comes to taste". I believe that taste is not limited to food but also when it comes to what best works out for them.

What works for them and not telling the trader what to do. I also know that some traders are the devil and wicked but do you think it is possible for us to link those two together (the evil/heartless salesman and the inconsiderate customer) Well, I pray that one day the two meet up and I hope I am there to witness them fight because it will surely be bloody but for now, why don't we talk about my experience as a trader and as customer based on the hive learners prompt.

I think growing up the most difficult thing was when we were sent back to return something to where we bought it because our parents either didn't like that product or the product was damaged and trust me, that situation scares every kid because we knew they would shout or be reluctant in collecting it back and if they don't collect it back, then it means we are in for it because you'd just be going back and forth and eventually receive slap as a motivation from a parent (mother especially) for not listening to instructions. So to avoid the slap, I guess what you need is getting it done right and ask a lot of questions just to be sure be sure before you go. I guess growing up, that scar still remains because I don't like the look on merchant faces whenever I return things especially old people. Mind you, most times it is not a look of anger but that of disappointment. But most times, I ignore especially if you tried to play on my intelligence by giving me something bad or something different from what I ordered. Like for instance, I got an electric kettle before leaving Lagos for kwara because of the weather here and on getting down here, I found out that the kettle wasn't working. I didn't test this kettle because there wasn't light at her shop and she promised Heaven and Earth that it works fine.

I also forgot to when I got home yes I forgot because I was packing and part of me believed her. Now I learnt my lesson which is Traders are out to make sales and they don't care about you. Yeah some want you to come and are genuine but how would be sieve out the good from the bad? I have also met some good ones and I still trade with them every now and then. If I go to the market now, I have designated people I buy my stuffs from. They weren't my first choice of people. My first choice weren't honest with their prices making me flee for my live and camp at a new location. I don't care if they see me do this because they indirectly pushed me away with their hands.

To we customers, can also stop this "why did you hike price when you still have old stocks". They do that because they also need to restock and remember, nobody opens shop to giveaway all their profits. You should complain when they overprice and you can work away if the prices doesn't please you. What I am trying to say here is that customers are not gods and should be corrected and in return, traders should know that people worked hard for that money and they should have heart while trading. That way trust can come back in the market place.
