Is not bad taking a public transport for a journey of one or three hours destination but for a journey that will take a long while not every public transport can take one on a long ride without developing issues.
The notion of many Nigeria about Lagos...Lagos the heart beat of Nigeria if you love to gadabout and you haven't been there is just as if you're missing out alot. I have heard of both negative and positive things about this city but mostly the positive ones so I wanted to see for myself so I told my auntie that I was coming she was happy at least to help out with the kids and her business, I told one of my colleague where I work my intention of going to Lagos I needed a guidelines since she's been there on different occasions, instead of helping out she inflicted more fear on me. But I had made up my mind on going...
so I hit the road to a bus station to buy my ticket, the Luxurious bus seem beautiful outwardly but little did I know it was faulty and I took all night journey couple with the insecurity in the country since it was my first time to Lagos that was the only option for me the rest are half way journey I wasn't familiar with places so I had to take the bus that will take me from where I was to my direct destination. One hour on the way our bus started acting up and finally develop fault the driver had to look for a mechanic to fix the car we waited at least another hour to continue our trip... after three hours drive another issue we had to come down again wait for some moment for the car to be fixed, after some time thesame issue this time around in the middle of nowhere at the middle of the night, we were scared that something might go wrong with the insecurity in the country I remembered how my colleague told me a story how they were attack by robbers on their way back from Lagos and there were gun shot everywhere luckily they were not touched by any bullet, the only problem was the luxurious bus was damage. I had to snap out from that thought immediately, shortly our bus was fix after a while had thesame issue over and over again this time around our tyre got busted out we shouted out of fear we had to come down for the car to be fixed after two hours the tyre was changed... we were angry and tired of the whole thing I regreted why I embarked on that journey. a trip of 12 hours lasted for 24 hours, my auntie was scared because she knew I couldn't find my way around Lagos, imagine going to place you never been instead of arriving early to locate the place, you're reaching there in the night...the whole place was new and different to me, I had to be careful when asking of address to avoid been kidnapped by those thugs. arriving to my aunty's address was a breath of peace of mind to me. This trip was my most memorable experience with a public transport and I wouldn't want to experience that again.
