Till date I'm still in shock anytime I remember this incident called end sars...
End sars is a protest from many angry Nigerians who want to end police brutality and harassment. At the verge of the protests resulted to many atrocities and crimes which put the country in fear of what is going to happen. The incident took place in 20-Oct-2020, three years ago.

I went to Lagos to visit my auntie two weeks of my stay there I noticed gradual riot in our street and many area in Nigeria there was series of destruction of properties burning of many market, banks, and many others places killing and in injurying of innocent people...I was so afraid that I regreted why I came for the first place and I couldn't go back because everywhere and the roads seem unsafe for me to travel back.

One fateful day my auntie and I went to her store in reaching there everything was scattered around, the thugs and angry Nigerians destroyed the banks close to our house by burning it down, many hid themselves at home, everywhere seems so scanty...my auntie out of difficulty brought some of her goods back home while the rest was destroyed. I have never been so scared in my life like that period I thought no body will survive it.

That same day we were still at sleep at midnight around 2.am we heard noise everywhere some people in the streets had to turn themselves to guards due to insufficient securities, they move around with heavy sticks I wasn't seeing this like a joke any more because they look scary and dangerous you can hardly differentiate between really ones and the fake ones we just had to be careful some even use the opportunity to steal and inflict fear on people we just had to hide to the comfort and safety of our homes. Many Nigerians were in shock, pains and confused.

Another night around 1.am thesame thing this time around many knocks on our door to alert us on the dangers of sleeping alone in the compound that many people had left already to look for safety my auntie became so afraid she wondered what she will do especially with the children considering the fact that her husband is not around due to he works in another state. Out of fear she waked us up in the middle of the night to pack some of our things for us to run for a safety place, I brought out my phone checked the time it was past 1am I tried to convince her for us to stay back till morning but she refused, in my night wears I quickly pick some few stuffs of mine and we left the house with five children in the middle of the night where we slept that night was a miracle a good Samaritan hosted us at that middle of the night with the children while my auntie and the children were asleep I couldn't sleep I was afraid of the environment I had to stay awake till day break...on our way home we saw some robbers who were caught and beaten by the securities.
The decentralized social movements cause the lives of many Nigerians, destruction of properties, businesses and left many injured.

I can imagine how that must have felt. I remember almost same thing happened in my neighborhood back then, they were even shooting in broad day light. We had to lie low inside the room to stay safe. The way some thugs abused the protest was something else, because how can we be possibly fighting for the same cause and you will be creating problems for us as well?

It’s good to know you guys were able to stay safe. You aunt was really brave to move at that time, it was a good decision but still risky though.

Too bad you went through thesame thing even worse than mine sorry about that...too bad many people had to die for this same protest against police brutality, I am happy we're safe thanks for stopping by

You are welcome ❤️
