For some weeks, all Pakistanis have been suffering some sort of difficulties and censorship while using the internet and its applications. They are facing some bulwarks while loading data, sending messages, and downloading media files even on WhatsApp which is a basic navigation application these days used to do business, communicate with friends and family, and stay in touch with larger communities through groups and channels. Vpn is in each cell phone these days here in Pakistan. “Firewall” and “Web management system “ are the most common words being discussed by Pakistanis.
People are linking this outage with the legislation of policymakers letting intelligence agencies access and intercept calls of the public without prior permission from any court. People consider it a complete violation of Article 6 of the constitution which provides freedom and privacy to every resident. But undisputedly the flocks lack the prudence that our legislatures and Stick wali sarkar(Pakistanis might have comprehended it) possess. As it is an unquestionable bill(just like many in history ) one must grasp that this will be in utter favor and interest of the nation(the definition of nation here is different because it is everyone except a common man).

Actually, the public is mad as it is objecting to that decision. Parents have all the right to censor the content coming towards their offspring. They can and they must choose what their kids should see. So the state is also like a mother. Isn’t. ???? Just like a mother protects her son's kid, our state is also protecting us from harmful content and applications. Just like X (former Twitter) state considers it very lethal (now don't ask me the reason for it). Even the state wants to check my texts to my gf. Maybe she considers there might be some unethical content in it. Well, it was a joke. Joking is a good way though life in Pakistan is already a joke.
Well that's not for what I am writing this blog.
“Mama, should parents keep an eye on the activities of their kids like how they are using their cell phones? “
I asked Mom, to which she replied,
“I checked on your all activities except your online activities now you have your answer “
“That's why I am that spoiled “ I murmured lightly

Parent’s role:
Parents must check on the physical and online activities of their kids. They must stop every content that is above the age of their kids. They must know who is accessing their kid and to whom their kid is accessing. Scrutinizing content is very essential because vulgarity, extremism, and bullying are spreading rampantly. I have gone through many news when minors being exploited by some hoodlums. Though I got access to cell phones much earlier, I believe that parents should not hand over cell phones to their kids so early. They must be mature and taught enough to differentiate between legit and illicit, ethical and unethical, and wrong and right.
Platform owner’s responsibility:
The owners of the applications also have some obligations. They must formulate a policy in which the users must see things that are suitable for their age. They must retard bold and vulgar content from being available so easily. Social media is the main source of spreading extremism and racism as we just saw in the UK. Once Twitter used to be my favorite application but after being converted into X, a lot of vulgarity and nudity have prevailed on their ending exterminating the real soul of that opinion-sharing and gathering platform. The same is the case of Instagram in which such clips that used to be considered leaks a decade ago are presented as a reel.
Society’s role:
Society has a very profound role in protecting minors from immoral, illegal, and bad content. First society must not share any such content. Secondly, each member of society should consider it his responsibility to protect posterity by reporting all the bad content and people spreading them should be chastised with severe punishment.
