AN INSIGHT INTO THE NITTY GRITTY OF EBOOKS AND PAPERBACKS

in #hive-1538502 years ago

In the world at large, books are among the most essential things. A book may be compared to a road map that makes it simple for us to find our way since they are so particular to the point where they are constantly relevant and because they have the capacity to store knowledge and varied histories for as long as feasible. They are all pertinent and necessary, regardless of how they are presented—whether as a hard copy or a soft copy (ebook).

I personally treasure and hold books in high regard because I find them to be a source of inspiration and a way to learn about various subjects, as well as a source of information and other things of that nature. Because I wasn't born during the era of widespread modern technology, I first discovered and started by journey with books in the form of hard copies, which I have always treasured and keep neatly for future revisit.

However, since the advent of technology, almost everything has been computerized. This evolution also affected certain aspects of books, which is how we came to have books in electronic form in addition to the current hardcopy we were also using. They are both fantastic in my opinion, but in answer to the Hive Learners topic, I'll share more details about both and discuss which I found to be my favorite.

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT PAPERBACKS

Before the early age of the invention of books, the majority of our ancestors transmitted knowledge and information to the next generation orally, by drawing diagrams, and in other ways. However, this method had drawbacks because the next generation would likely forget some of the information or the diagram would wash off or fade. Contrary to before the invention of books, knowledge and information have remained in circulation for decades with little to no loss.

Books in this format have been proven to be practical, accessible, and generally useful. They also usually come in handy and make it simple to keep track of where you stop reading, so altogether, books in this format are great. However, they do have certain flaws, such as:

  • Decaying due to age: Despite how thick hardcopy books are, we realize that when they get old enough to a certain stage, they start decaying or fading off due to the length of their lives.

  • Nature disaster: Natural disasters are one of the things that work against books. This is especially true when a fire breaks out and the book's pages are burned, or when the book is submerged in water and eventually damaged as a result of the water.

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT EBOOKS

Since ebooks are the current method for storing information and are saved electronically rather than as hard copies, they are a great idea and a convenient way for us to access knowledge wherever we are without having to carry extra weight.

With eBooks, you can easily increase the font size of the text you're reading, which makes it easier to see and read. You can also easily adjust the brightness of your device to meet your eyes' needs.

The benefits of ebooks are numerous because they are considerably simpler to obtain, track our reading progress, and essentially provide all we need to make reading enjoyable. The following drawbacks exist despite all the aforementioned advantages:

  • Corrupted files: One of the lapses of eBooks is the fact that they could get corrupted due to the device they're saved on being corrupted by a virus, and this will ultimately lead to the loss of data.
  • Electricity: Consider studying for a test solely with ebooks, but what happens when the battery on your gadget runs out and there is no way to recharge it? Because they couldn't access the ebook owing to a lack of electricity, such a person is most likely to fail the course.

I think I covered everything there is to know about the various kinds of books and their drawbacks, but now I want to discuss which I still find appealing despite those drawbacks and why I chose it over the others.

Personally, I still prefer having hardcopy books rather than ebooks. I don't mean to disparage ebooks, but I just love it when something comes in handy and I can read as much as I want without being interrupted by other things I'm doing on my device. Distractions like these can't occur with a book because a hardcopy only contains the words you need, as opposed to other things like apps and other things that can easily cause one to become distracted while reading an ebook.

That's all on my opinion on which I prefer between ebooks and hardcopy books, which was a topic inspired by the Hive Learners community; read Kronia's post to get more information.

I also prefer holding physical books to reading online. They're very much appealing to me.

Wow that's great to know we shared share interest.

I love your opinion on this topic and you chose the best for you. We all are different and we won't go for the same thing. What you like, someone else doesn't like it. Above all, we must go for what works best for us.

Thanks so much for your compliments of my itemizing, truely everyone has diverse options on which they prefer and why, but all in all they are both good.

Most of us still prefer having a hardcopy we can get our hands on whenever we wish.

Yea it's so, although others love the modern once more.
