Everyone loves holidays and the ideal of taking a break off work to relax, rejuvenate, and spend time bonding well with their loved ones without the distraction of their work interfering like it does prior to the holiday. I, for one, love holidays and always look forward to them. And as we all know, when it's coming to a close, we all usually feel as though it should be extended a little more, but then we know nothing lasts forever, and that's why in this article, I'll be telling you about when my holiday elapsed and my plans towards resuming back to work.
To start with, I'd like to say compliments of the season to everyone and happy new year in advance, so back to my holiday story: like I said a few days ago during one of the hive learners community prompts, I won't be traveling to enjoy the holiday like I've always done in the past, and the reason for that isn't far-fetched; in fact, as presently as I'm writing this prompt, I'm en route to a staff audit hosted by my employers.
Had to leave home as early as 5 am to beat the regular Lagos traffic and as well arrive on time so I can participate in the exercise and return back home in time to relax and possibly face other necessary stuff I need to do, and with that being said I guess we'll all agree that I'm not really having a holiday, because this is like the second time we're being asked to come for this audit in the last few days.
I remember last week we went for the same thing on the 23rd of December, and today being the 30th, I'm on my way for the same thing, making the holiday become the shadow of its usual self for me, but then I hope after today's staff audit we won't have to undergo another anytime soon, because at least I know once this is over, I'll have the next 5 days to start and enjoy the holiday before it's finally over.
So on a norm, our holiday ought to be concluded on the 5th of January, meaning I'm supposed to resume back to work on the 6th of January, and seeing how close that's to present day, I can't help but wish I had a more prolonged holiday, because with that I would have travelled to visit my family and as well relax more, but then it's all good; I'm grateful for life and how far I've come.
So basically my holiday ends on the 5th of January, and I don't need any packing or moving from one place to another because I didn't travel to celebrate the holiday. I guess it's just to get all of my stuff ready and in good shape ahead of resumption and hope everything goes well, even though it's disappointing that I get to see my beautiful family and have time to bond with them before work resumes again.
But then, on a positive note, I'm also looking forward to resuming work, because it's an opportunity for me to see my beautiful and awesome colleagues, to come together, and to strive towards shaping the future of young minds via our mentorship and guidance. I've also missed my students and the joy that comes from teaching and guiding their sort to have a fulfilling future and as well help them become something good in life via my mentoring.
So, compliments of the season to everyone, and happy new year in advance! We shall all have reasons to celebrate throughout 2025.
