I will be writing on the Weekly Featured Contents
Cheap Or Expensive
Tell us about the cheapest food you've ever eaten. And then tell us about the most expensive food you've ever eaten. How often do you eat those foods? And what situation is required for you to keep it up?
Food is an important part of life and it give us the strength and nutrition we need as human, when I say food is good I mean every word of it because I love food, I love eating especially good food but I get tired of cooking most times.
Food is compulsory either expensive or cheap, and here in Nigeria there are variety of cheap and pocket friendly meals to eat, either you make it yourself or you buy from road side food vendors popularly called buka.
We must eat to survive and to be productive for the day, without food it won't be easy for you to do your day to day activities.
The cheapest food I have ever eaten
It was a concoction rice, some people call it life saving rice or oil rice.
I was in my 200level second semester, towards the end of my exams, with all my money exhausted and non of my siblings ready to give me money and mum was just waiting for me to be done with my exams before sending transport fare to come home, I had just rice and #300 in the house.
Since my school is in a rural area, and you can get things cheap and fast, I just got crayfish, pepper, oil, maggi and salt all costing about #250 with a balance of #50. After getting the few ingredients, I put the rice on fire and added everything and within few minutes my delicious 😋 rice was ready and I ate with lots of joy and happiness that I won't go to bed hungry that night.
The most expensive food
The most expensive meal I have had was during my boss's first child naming ceremony. Being his first child and according to him, he has always wanted and prayed for the particular gender as his first,so he decided to celebrate big. I intended not to wait for the celebration after closing hour because I needed to get somewhere but I had a delay with my account so I couldn't leave.
It was smoked jolloff rice with turkey, fried plantain and some assorted snail and meat, few days later a colleague then revealed to us that she found out that a plate of the food cost 8,500, I was a little surprised because I ordinarily won't spend that much on a plate of food.
I haven't been eating that type of oil rice ever since instead whenever I crave it I prepare it properly with more protein and enough ingredients, as for the expensive one I look forward to having it one of these days with my family and even be to able prepared it for my family during special occasions.
