Hello friends. Today, I would like to share with you a fascinating evergreen shrub species that I can quickly introduce: a variety of rhododendron called Brazilia. Do you see how impressive and colorful it is? The main color of its flowers is pastel and salmon pink with a lightly pronounced creamy yellow spot. While in bud it can appear dark in color and may resemble dark pink or red. But when fully open its color lightens and takes on a delicate appearance fading over time.
The flowers are quite large with diameters reaching up to 6.5 cm and they are extremely lovely. Like other rhododendrons it prefers semishaded areas and avoids direct sunlight. It also thrives in acidic soil.
Currently it is with us in a pot,but it will soon be planted in an open area. It has a compact structure and can grow up to about a meter tall forming a rounded crown shape. If I share it again during that period you may not recognize it. In spring it produces incredibly beautiful flowers and forms abundant clusters of blooms. It also produces young pale green shoots. The flowers have a truly beautiful color. They are extremely pleasant and it is impossible to pass by without noticing them. There are no markings like punctuation in the center of the buds, but there are small dots that can be lightly noticed in some parts of our plant.
Its color transitions very softly and smoothly between shades of pink and yellow. If you are like me once you plant a rhododendron you can't stop and it ignites a desire to continue expanding your collection with these wonderful examples. I hope you find this flower as delightful as I do. Until the next post, goodbye and take care.
