Here is a drawing I made as my entry to Draw This In Your Style Challenge by @boley
I think the image captured that playful mood of the kid character, I kept the brown cardboard box 📦 for the pretend hat because children love creating something like that during play time. The red scarf I made exaggeratedly huge to wrap the kid just like in the reference drawing but I decided to put it on one side mostly avoiding to smother the character with thick fabric. I want it flowing to keep that playful vibe. I gave him a belt with a pouch and decorative elements to keep it interesting. The colors are rather dark and to break that gloom I tried coloring the belt in lighter and brighter colors I know I can revise this in the future to improve on it meanwhile here is my entry hope you like it
