I love waffles for breakfast. Since i had not had any for a while, I decided to cook up a batch.
I cook them the very quick and easy way by using a prepared mix from Kodiak buttermilk waffle mix. Just add water and a little oil. I had gotten the waffle maker last year for Christmas. It not one of those fancy ones just a simple one that makes the thin waffles not the big Belgian waffles that a lot of people like. I grew up eating the small square ones so i guess that is why i never developed a liking for the big thick ones.
After mixing the three items together (mix, water, and oil), pour it into the center of the waffle maker. I have found that some days i have to add just a little extra water otherwise the batter does not spread out properly. I think it might have something to do with the humidity and altitude.
After about five minutes the waffles are ready to plate and enjoy.
If you want to “Power Up” the waffles you can replace the water with milk. Or you can use the milk and add an egg. I have tried this a time or two because i could not really tell the difference. Maybe it kept me fuller for longer but I really don’t remember since it has been a while since i used thise modifications to the recipe.
I guess i just like things that are simple, not fancy, nor upgraded so to speak. I really love my waffles with maple syrup as you can see.
