This year the cactus really made a showing with teir blooms, more than i have seen in the last few years.
I took several photos to share with everyone. I just love the rich yellow coloring of the blooms.
Normally it is very dry and we do not get the growth on the cacti but this year appears to be a very good year for them. This will provide more pollen for the bees, butterflies and hummingbirds.
The flowers only stay open for about two days but they have lots of buds on each of the pallets which will keep opening over time. It should keep a steady stream of flowers blooming for the next few weeks.
This bloom has a bee in it deep inside of the bloom. You can just make out its back just below the staple in the bloom
I guess the nice soaking rain we received a few months ago really helped all the plants bounce back from the prior bad years we have been experiencing. I hope nature continues to thrive.
