One of the most remarkable acts in the animal kingdom is the migration of the sea turtle, from its feeding ground to it's nestling beach. The female turtle comes ashore to lay eggs- numbering about 100 in a single nest every two to four years. Once hatched, the baby turtles makes their way back to the ocean. They may cover a distance of 12,900 kilometers. When the female turtle matures they will return to lay their own eggs exactly at the same strech of beach they were hatched.

The sea turtle may determine it's position by detecting the angle and intensity of the earth's magnetic field. It seems they inherited some sort of magnetic map. This amazing ability enables these tiny, defenseless hatchlings to embark on their 12,900kilometer migration around the Atlantic ocean alone without following other sea turtles.
After laying and concealing her eggs, the female turtle abandons the nest.
To break out of its shell the hatchling uses a special tooth called caruncle, which then falls off.
Sea turtle spend 90 percent of their life on the ocean.
